    I am so happy that Dr. Judy Ho has developed this book to shine a light on how often we self-sabotage so many areas of our lives. Dr. Ho’s thought provoking and thorough exercises shine awareness to what influenced our self- sabotaging behavior and guides us on how we can empower ourselves to stop.I am a Psychotherapist who has been in private practice for over 15 years and so many of the examples Dr. Ho has in this book are so similar to the people I see daily. I really like the 4 elements of L.I.F.E and how it helps identify many of the reasons on how we began self-sabotaging and continue doing it without our knowledge.I personally love the explanations and exercises and wish there had been such a practical book as “Stop Self-Sabotage” when I was in therapy years ago dealing with my internalized negative beliefs, fears, and need to control that resulted in my self-sabotaging numerous things in my life. As I began to read the book, it was real eye opener for me to see that lately I have fallen into these old thoughts and behaviors, and I challenged myself to look at myself. I have been doing the exercises in this book and taking my time as she suggests so I can really set the foundation for change. Those childhood internalized beliefs can really sneak up on one especially in challenging times.This is defiantly a book I am referring to my clients. So many come to my office with so many triggers, distorted thinking, fears, low self-esteem, etc., and once they have an understanding of the root of their self-sabotaging behavior they begin to do the work to change. This book reinforces that one can transform ourselves positively if we get out of our way, be honest with ourselves, and do the hard work. Dr. Judy Ho has done the scientifically proven work for us by giving us the six steps in this great book, nothing is easy, now you have to follow the exercises that take thought and time… but I am telling you as a person who is always wanting to better myself, and as a therapist that is passionate to experience the happiness of my clients…this is a must read book. It’s a book one can refer back to for years to keep us in check.

    Many self-help books in the mental health domain are good and solid theories, but after putting them down, the reader doesn’t get a clear idea of how to implement the knowledge to sort out day-to-day cognitive issues. In a good contrast, Judy Ho’s book is surprisingly practical.     Get ready to shed some healthy tears.
    I purchased this book after falling ill and realizing I had some unhealthy habits that were impeding my healing. Once I realized I didn’t have enough self control to help myself become well in my sickness I knew I needed to reach out for help. This book has been amazing. NOTE: BUY A JOURNAL WITH THIS. To get the full benefit of this book it requires some writing. I’m at the halfway point and treat it as if it’s my nightly homework. It tackles all topics. Work, relationships, weight loss and other things. Even what doesn’t apply to you, you can still benefit from. I took a chance, because I’m not one to believe in “self help” books. I have cried again and again. It has been incredibly cathartic in ways I don’t even have words to explain. I already have seen my thinking start to change and I’m not even finished yet. Don’t doubt. Buy this book.

    A Book That Everyone Can Relate To!
    Easy to follow with lots of great tips to help you get out of your own way. Even if you think you have your life together, there are always areas in our lives that we can work on and this book has definitely got me rethinking what’s possible in these areas of my life. It’s a good reminder that we often have to look no further than “in the mirror” to figure out what’s holding us back. And I love that it actually gives you exercises to help you take practical steps in the right direction and doesn’t just lecture you on what you’ve been doing wrong. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to make positive changes in their lives.

    I Can’t Put It Down!
    I usually don’t leave reviews until after I’ve read the whole book but WOW… After reading the first few chapters, I already feel so motivated to share this book! The thing that’s really moved me so far is that, while I think of myself as a high achiever, I still find myself falling short of some of the goals I set. Dr. Judy methodically breaks down this “self sabotage” process and offers countless exercises to combat these habits. The systematic approach is practical, effective, and does a tremendous job taking the modern human element of behavior into consideration. I’m really looking forward to continuing my reading and absorbing all that this book has to offer!

    if I had known that the whole book premise or that the example she was going to use through out the book is a middle aged fat lady who can’t loose weight…then I probably wouldn’t have bought this book. I haven’t been able to get past the first chapter because the example is soooo lame! it makes it a drag to read.
