    Very good read!
This book is so informative and it is an easy read. I love seeing what I should be incorporating into my diet each week to help my babies development. It is also a good source for after the baby is born, I will be going back and rereading certain sections as I get closer to my due date for tips on breastfeeding and losing the baby weight. I will say that if I was over weight this book may have freaked me out a bit because it does cover the issues that come with being over weight and pregnant. It isn’t doom and gloom on this topic but it is very honest. I will absolutely be purchasing this book for my pregnant girlfriends!

    Very helpful, great recipes!
I am midway through my first pregnancy and really enjoying this book. Her week-by-week guides are really interesting and very easy to use, and the recipes are great! I know some reviewers have commented that they didn’t like her comments on weight gain, etc. Personally, I didn’t find any part of this book to be prescriptive or judgemental at all! She is good about laying out the facts and supporting with explanations. In general, the writing is understanding and supportive, and the information is great!

    Good
Book is good, especially for a first time moms. It has some good insights on pregnancy weight gain and offers some good advice for your diet throughout pregnancy. Also offers some recipes along the way. Good book to have for pregnancy. I bought this used and the quality was worse than described, so that is the only reason I took off one star.

Great Nutrition Resource for Expecting Mamas
This book has been a great resource for healthy eating throughout pregnancy. It provides an overview of each trimester as far as what you should be focusing on nutrition-wise and then is broken down by week. This was especially helpful for me as I’ve been reading multiple pregnancy books at once and a lot of the information started to blur together. The weekly references made it easy to pick up the book throughout my pregnancy to see what foods were best for me at that specific point in my baby’s development. Highly recommend!

    Skip first 1/3 of book
Insightful and interesting. However, I agree with other reviewers that this author has a pretty negative overtone and really focuses on obesity too much – zaps the joy right out of this whole pregnancy process. I recommend skipping the first chunk of the book and just head straight to the chapters where she breaks down what foods to eat during which weeks. These sections are terrific and very informative.

    Excellent
I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! I find the information helpful, relevant and realistic. Food is fuel (even when not pregnant)! We tend to forget that.

Good content but not realistic if you experience aversions
Content is solid, but I realized quickly in the first trimester that this book was unrealistic if anyone is experiencing moderate to severe nausea and vomiting, along with food aversions.I plan to donate to the library. I felt like this book could easily cause unnecessary stress or guilt for an expecting mom to be.

I really liked this. I didn’t always follow along but when I did I liked how it highlighted a food and gave recipes.
