Itâs a gift!
This is a birthday gift. My grandson is very much a history buff. I bought this for his birthday. I am sure he is going to love this book. The contents is on his age level which he is 10 years old. This way while he is reading the book I can talk and tell him story of my grandfather who was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. The book came exactly when it was to be delivered and I think many children who love history would love this book. I am so excited to give it to him today. 12/18/22.

A most important event!
I love this book for children and young teens. Often they are not taught about this important event in American history. Clearly explained. Author did a good job telling the story!

Perfect for my 7 year old grandson
My 7year old grandson loves this book. He already has an interest in WW2 history, in particular the ships and planes. This is perfect, with just enough detail for a young child. He loves facts and this book is perfect forHim!

Includes Quiz and Glossary to Make a Whole Learning Lesson
The History of Pearl Harbor: A World War II Book for New Readers Paperback â May 25, 2021The paperback History of Pearl Harbor is recommended for ages 6 – 9. It is rated for grade level 1 – 2 which is lower than the up to 9 in age that is recommended. I definitely feel that because of the reading level and the subject in general, it would be understood by children on the higher end of the recommended age level. The book is laid well and gives a thorough overview of Pearl Harbor. I also like that the book contains a glossary of words in the back which are easy to use as spelling or definition words if you are like me and like to make books into a whole learning lesson. Chapter 8 also has a quiz so kids can test what they learned.Chapter 1: Setting the StageChapter 2: Japan Makes MovesChapter 3: Early Morning HoursChapter 4: Surprise Attack!Chapter 5: The First WaveChapter 6: The Second WaveChapter 7: The Date that Lives in InfamyChapter 8: So . . . Kid friendly book about the history of Pearl Harbor
The History of Pearl Harbor: A World War II Book for New Readers. My 8 year old and I enjoy reading the biography books from this series! This book is about The history of Pearl Harbor and the backstory on the events leading up to the Pearl Harbor attack and the legacy it left. This book starts off with a bang going straight into the Pearl Harbor attack like an action movie. It did a good job in hooking my 8 year old from the start. Then the books go in the history and politics leading up the attack. Some of the history and politics discussed in the book were difficult for my 8 yr old to fully understand, but he continued reading the book and stayed interested in the historical story. The book generally has child friendly language, has some vocab/challenge words, has shorter chapters, the chapters flow well, the font is in larger format, there are colorful illustrated pictures and colorful visual timelines, plus at the end there is a a glossary, mini quiz, and short outline on how the events at Pearl Harbor impacted the world today. Good introductory book for kids about the history of Pearl Harbor, recommend!

A fun diversion from this same biography series
I’ve read a bunch of books in this series, which have all been of the biography variety. So this is a fun one because it focuses on Pearl Harbor and WWII by branching out into covering some world events. It’s still a little heavy for our four year old, which is to be expected given that it is for slightly older kiddos. It has quite a few more words than pictures and even though we are delving in to chapter books more now, she still prefers some bubble gummy style books. But all that aside, this is in the same vein with 8 chapters that cover Pearl Harbor and WWII, with the 8th chapter being a 10 question quiz. The quiz is a little too silly this time around, in my opinion…girl scouts? Even making that into a joke about calling the Air Force the Girl Scouts is a bit much…but I might use that for some co-workers! Anyway, great book that I love having added to our collection and will revisit with our kiddo, and it’s a fair price at about $8.

All the information we should know about Pearl Harbor
Most Americans know little about history, both American and world history. This is tragic because it is a sign of insufficient intelligence. Also, people need to know what helped to individuals and society in the past and what did not work so that they will not repeat the mistakes of the past and build on successes. This book tells the history of Pearl Harbor. (Probably less than 1 in 5 people know the significance of the event and even where Pearl Harbor is located.)This book gives readers all of the significant information about the tragic event. It is easy to read. In fact, it is written for young children, but even adults will learn much from the book. I recommend it.
