Great if you have scoliosis or back pains
Due to scoliosis and past back injuries I’ve always had issues with yoga pads being too thin. They’d hurt my back alot and made excerise painful. Since switching this 1 inch mat it’s made stretching so much easier and less painful. Thw bad thickness is enough that for the first time I can’t feel the floor pushing against my hips or lower back. I’d say the durability of this is pretty good, it’s worked well with weights on it, basic exercise and stretching, along with a cat that thinks it’s his now. One thing I live besides the comfort of the mat is it’s stability and grip on the floor. I use it kn wooden flooring and it has yet to slide around. Its appearance is nice and matches the photo, so what you see is in fact what you’ll get. It’s also much longer than I expected, I’m 5’2 and there’s still a good amount of space left I don’t reach. I’d say it’s pretty worth it for the price.

Very thick and Supportive
I have recently found myself getting into yoga. And one of the biggest things I struggle with with yoga is my knees. They are extremely sensitive to hard surfaces, so it was very stressful for me to find a yoga mat that was thick enough to support my knees and make The positions Iâm in very comfortable. Even with any yoga mats being on them, they would often dirty up easily or break off from the friction of my body. But I have to say this yoga mat has definitely given me a positive experience. It is very thick and gives me a lot of support on my feet and when sitting. One of the greatest things about this mat as well is that it doesnât shrink when you sit on it so when you get up, you have a big spot thatâs dented.I find it more, comfortable to be able to relax and do yoga now, and my knees feel great. 100% worth the money. It also comes with a tie to put your mat up and safe to create more space and storage. It is very easy and light to carry around.

Softest thickest mat
Use this for outdoor yoga on hard deck and love the thickness. It helps avoid wrist pain and works great, is my favorite yoga mat because the thickness and foam material. Wipes down easily. Does stretch some and gets marked easily if dogs walk on it which is not great, but overall I love this mat

Not Quite Five Stars
I want to give this mat five stars, for so many reasons. The color is beautiful, it’s every bit as thick as advertised, which is great for my knee, it’s reasonably priced and doesn’t slip. The only reason I can’t quite get there is that it is so thick it’s a little bulky to take back and forth to the gym, no matter how tightly I roll it. Also, the padding is so squishy it’s hard to feel properly grounded for balance in certain poses. Despite these minor detractions, I will absolutely be keeping it for at-home workouts.

As Advertised.
The boysenberry color is pretty. The Retrospec mat is odor-free, 7/8â thick (so close enough), dense, and non-slip on my wood floor. I wanted the density to cushion pressure points whilst performing various core exercises and general stretching on the floor. It works well for my purpose. I agree with other commenters, the 1â thick mat is too unstable for yoga. That said, the slight instability makes this mat useful for developing balance and core stability by balancing on uneven surfaces, similar to the benefits of walking on grass or trails. The mat is easily nicked by long nails (human and animal) rocks, sticks etc. so pay attention to where you set it up; however not a deal-breaker for my use. I originally looked at the BalanceFrom GoCloud mat because it is the mat that appears in several online reviews with a link to Amazon. However, once on Amazon, I noticed remarkable similarities between the GoCloud and Retrospec reviews. I suspect both mats are identical just with a different brand name and sold by different companies. I ultimately went with the Retrospec mat because the Retrospec is sold and shipped by Amazon so the benefits and protections of âAmazon Primeâ, including free returns, apply. The GoCloud mat could be returned however according to the fine print, if the return wasnât due to Sellerâs error the return might be subject to a restocking fee. One of the most objectionable review comments common to both brands had to do with the mat having a terrible, lingering odor. I was willing to take a chance and order it, but would have returned it if it had a bad odor. I did not want to pay a restocking fee so went with the Retrospec mat sold and shipped by Amazon. One exception is Amazon Prime offers the GoCloud in black only. I didnât want black because I expect to occasionally use it outside in the Florida sun and it will get really hot.

I love how thick it is! It’s exactly what I was hoping for!
