    I got this for my dad who is recovering from back surgery and it has made a big difference. The exercises in this guide are great for gradually increasing flexibility and strength. Some of the exercise can require being a little bit more fit from the get go, but for the most part it is self paced and you can skip around to creat a plan that works best for you. A great, simple, and effective guide!

    I liked this book. It gives you all the reasons, and there are a lot, why you should absolutely do strength training if you want to extend the quality of your life.     Great for senior beginners
    This book is well-written and researched with references, and provides an excellent starting base for seniors wanting to improve their strength, muscle tone, and mobility. I am a senior (64) but perhaps perceived the book title differently than most, having won a MR AUSTRALIA bodybuilding title in 1984, and continuing to weight train to this day. One of my mates, the same age as me, just broke a world powerlifting record. He is the only person in history over 60 years of age to squat 300kg (660 pounds). Even more remarkable is that he only took up powerlifting 6 years ago. So when I saw the title “ULTIMATE STRENGTH TRAINING GUIDE FOR SENIORS OVER 60” I thought there might be some secret tips I could pass on to him. But this is more a guide for seniors who have never pumped iron in their life and wish to make a safe start. So if you are over 60, and have never strength trained, this is a good start. But if you are looking to achieve ultimate strength, this is not the right book.

    I bought this book for my parents who are both in their 70s. I read it first before I sent it to them and I found it so informative and helpful that my husband and I incorporated many of the advice into our routines as well.     It’s quite confronting for the young at heart to realise that at a certain age, you have to do quite a lot more than just incidental exercise to prevent the effects of ageing – muscle loss, balance issues, weakness in the joints and ligaments, from stealing your independence. This comprehensive book provides step-by-step exercises as well as a breakdown of the science and explanations of which muscle group you’re supporting with the exercises. It also provides stretching exercises you can perform as warm-ups and cool-downs.
