Helped me to plan my new lifestyle change.
I am a 38 year old obese female. I received lab work showing I had elevated cholesterol. I decided it was time to get serious and make some changes. I ordered this book, because although I can find anything online I really enjoy having the book in front of me. This book was enlightening, helped to break things down. I liked the weekly meal plan, along with your grocery list. Just remember to add in your snacks to your grocery list, they are not included in the break down. I did not 100% stick to her plan. The nightly meals were large enough that a lot of times my husband and I would eat it for 2 nights. So I didnât have the leftovers for lunch. I would usually just eat salads. Also sometimes I would improvise a meal. I live in a small town in the South, so I donât always have access to some of the ingredients. We have enjoyed the dishes, packed with flavor. The only thing is I wish that the recipes had pictures, not a big deal I just enjoy the look of the end results. I started my new lifestyle as of 6/7/24, as of date I am down 30 pounds. And my cholesterol has improved drastically, only a little bit more to go before I am in normal range. I feel better, and within days my feet didnât hurt as bad. Obviously they were quite inflamed. My blood pressure (although not terrible) has improved. In my short time I am already a big advocate for the Mediterranean Diet, and this book is a good starting point.

Great book
This book is well written, easy to follow. Recipes are easy and taste so good! If you follow this the weight comes off so fast. I love to cook but even if you don’t the way this works is your dinner is always your lunch c h the next day! It’s brilliant! I have purchased a few of these to give to relatives and recommend to friends.

Lots of great recipes, great way to eat healthy!
After having someone pass away from cancer in my husband’s family, I was on a mission to changing my husband’s eating habits. I decided to go with the Mediterranean way of eating because of the solid research done year after year of eating this way. I already was watching what I eat because of a health scare years ago, when I lost weight and started a new lifestyle change.
My husband and I started the four week plan and now are creating our own meals, still with following the food pyramid and the recipes that we liked. I also still do intermittent fasting, but am eating the same as my husband to help motivate him to stick to it.
The only complaint I have with the book is their is no pictures of the food. Every week I printed off the recipes and place them in a folder. It made it so much easier to flip the page to see what the day’s meal was going to be. Also, the author has what you make for dinner, your lunch the next day. I bento our meals for the next day and it makes it so easy to grab and go!

STRONGLY encourage you to get this book. Itâs not a cookbook, itâs a diet plan and Iâve lost 6 pounds in 1.5 weeks by keeping to portion size, which is so much easier than I expected. The meals are delicious, nutritious, and filling. I agree with others that the ever-changing servings per meal are annoying, and thereâs a lot of chopping fresh food. Portioning everything out and sticking the leftovers in the fridge was easy and a nice break from cooking lunch. The eggplant on the first weekâs shopping list was a mistake. I couldnât find eggplant in any recipe that week. In the big picture these are little flaws as you will feel good (and full) while you lose weight!

Great meal plans if you have $250 / week to spend on groceries
Some of the recipes in this book are really good. However I started trying to buy the ingredients for the first week of meal plans and my walmart online shopping cart quickly racked up to over $200. And I wasn’t even done yet! And that was only for the first week!
I mean I love that the shopping lists are included, and that the lists are broken up into easy-to-read categories (produce/dairy/meat/etc) but seriously? There are a LOT of groceries to buy every week and even though I’ve got a pretty healthy finances I can’t spend that much on groceries! You could never do this plan on a tight budget or if you’re someone who struggles to make ends meat. It’s not realistic and that was disappointing.
That being said, some of the recipes really are pretty delicious, so I’m still giving three stars. I had to pick and choose some recipes a la carte from the book since the meal plans weren’t realistic budget-wise. There are better meditteranean diet cookbooks out there that I’ve found since.

I hate meal plans.
Just finishing Week 1, but so far I love it.
I will say: I hate meal plans. I was so resistant when my husband bought this book, but I’d been interested in the Mediterranean lifestyle for years and figured I’d broaden my horizons and give it a shot. Soooo glad I did.
The food has been 95% delicious, I’m not a fan of a few of the smoothies but yogurt and berries/fruit make a good substitute. I tweak the seasonings a little on a few recipes so far, like adding sugar free jerk seasoning to the turkey burgers with mango salsa and toasting the buns with a little olive oil, made them divine. I’ve been full and not needing to even do the 2-3 snacks/day for the most part, though the hummus recipe with baby carrots is soooo much better than store bought. Doing a little prep work makes actually preparing the meals so easy especially since we both work full time and have 2 year old twins, it’s actually been easier than what we were doing before.
ONE COMPLAINT: the grocery lists are not portion appropriate. If the recipe is 6 servings and you only need 4 for the meal plan the grocery list does not reflect that. For Week 2 I went to the recipes and put the list together myself to reflect what we actually need and saved $100 vs the grocery bill on the first week. It did take some time but we’re liking the plan so much we may repeat it a few times so I’ll just hold onto my gorcery lists and reuse them.
Over all I was extremely reluctant to give this a try but I’m so glad we did, the general health benefits to this lifestyle are enough, but to finally see pounds coming off after months of a stalemate on the scale has been the icing on the cake.

This book is extremely beautiful! The info and the wide variety of information goes Beyond, over and above my expectations! Great designs on each page and gorgeous pictures of amazing recipes which I started marking pages immediately! Do you not miss out on this one, not a chance you will regret it! even though it says diet weight loss on it, for me itâs a lifestyle change because our family has decided to eat healthier by following the Mediterranean meal plans!!!! In my opinion, and my doctors!!!! The Mediterranean âdietâ Is and extremely healthy we to eat! Heart smart and body smart!
