After magnifying the great thing about unseen organisms in Tiny Creatures, Nicola Davies and Emily Sutton flip their abilities to the huge number of life on Earth.
The extra we research the world round us, the extra dwelling issues we uncover day-after-day. The planet is filled with hundreds of thousands of species of vegetation, birds, animals, and microbes, and each single one — together with us — is a part of an enormous, lovely, difficult sample. When people intervene with elements of the sample, by polluting the air and oceans, taking an excessive amount of from the ocean, and slicing down too many forests, animals and vegetation start to vanish. What kind of world wouldn’t it be if it went from having many forms of dwelling issues to having only one? In a stupendous follow-up, the creators of the award-winning Tiny Creatures: The World of Microbes ship an inspiring have a look at the extraordinary range of Earth’s inhabitants — and the significance of their preservation.

Fantastic book!
I teach art to childrenâs and also love the works of illustration as well as nature and animals so this book was for me. I use for inspiration for my own work and for projects I would do with my students. Gorgeous book for anyone who loves nature. Also the message of the book fantastic.

Gorgeous illustrations
Gorgeous illustrations. The text was less compelling for little readers, but the pictures were some of the loveliest we have seen.

Vibrant
This picture book invites readers to think about the wide amount of diversity in the animals and plants that live on our planet. The book offers a small scientific facts on some pages, giving a closer look at things like mushrooms, microbes, elephants, and habitats. The book moves on to fill pages with images of different types of animals, one fascinating two-page spread has animals that were discovered in the last 50 years. It also explores food cycles for several different species. The book ends with information on how humans are negatively impacting species in the world and encourages children to be aware of how they can make a difference. Filled with interesting facts and vibrant illustrations, this picture book is an invitation to explore nature even further. Appropriate for ages 4-7.

Liked her tiny creatures better
The book was nice, but not as good as the tiny creatures one. The conservation message at the end left a bit of a sad note too. The 4-6 year olds we read this too don’t need to go home weeping because all the animals are going to die out – at this age you want them to learn to love and respect nature. You need to give kids a positive outlook and deal with reality later on. Truth is, since the very begging of life on earth, long before mankind walked the earth, the geologic record is full of extinction, climatic changes, and catastrophic events… to put the weight and responsibility of somehow stopping that change and stopping extinction on a small child is too overwhelming and frankly unrealistic. Yes there are things that can be done far better on man’s part… like stop using so much plastic or killing hawks with those windmills and cutting down their addiction to energy sources. … but these tiny children should learn about all that stuff when they are older and have the mental capacity and ability to play a role. Broad generalized statements are only going to burden kids with sadness and make them feel hopeless… give them specific things to do and then they can soar.

EVERY PERSON ALIVE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK. Some will ignore it and continue on their destructive path, but hopefully enough people will read it and care and help stop the destruction.

The artwork is great and the writing is great
I bought this book to read to my daughter (my wife and I are both biologists) based on a recommendation from a friend. The artwork is great and the writing is great, but what makes me give a less than 5-star review is the fact that it ends on a serious downer. Children tend to not respond well to the doom and gloom approach to teaching about environmental responsibility. If the story teaches this lesson, then ends on an inspiring note, the lesson is better learned. If it just ends on a sad, depressing note, children walk away feeling helpless. This has been studied in education circles.
