    So helpful
This small book is filled page to page with about every food/ popular brands and restaurant nutritional data. I refer to it multiple times a day. As a newly diagnosed diabetic,it has helped me pick better food choices for meals and snacks. It has been a great, inexpensive necessity.

    Deserves 10 stars.
I absolutly love this little book, so packed full of all the information I need. Well designed format. One typo however, under the catagory of eggs, she listed chicken. Followed by various egg dishes then other poultry. Very confusing. Im not sure if it was for poultry added to the egg dishes. Other than that everything is clear and concsise. What I cant find in this book I can find in ” In The Complete Book Of Food Counts”, but I prefer this book because it also includes the catagory for sugar which the other book does not.

    just what I needed
The print is small and the paperback is flimsy but the information is good. I copied the index and made a bookmark with the information so I could highlight the items I needed to refer to for easy access

    Missing just one thing…
THis little pocket book does give much information. Everything I would need to make smart choices for CKD. But it is missing one nutrient…phosphorus. I think they could have left off one of the Vitamins and replaced it with phosphorus. The book is formatted in lists and table form. It does have small print and if it had separation lines that would make it better. The table lists Food, amount, calories, protein, fat, carbs, sodium, potassium, sugars, fiber, 6 different vitamins. Much good information..T

    Not good for Calorie counting.
I wanted a book listing calories as I am counting mine. I sometimes think a book is easier then going online for every item. But I was greatly disappointed to find when looking at fresh fruit, they list only medium but no variation for type. EX: they list a medium pear at 112, whereas a Bosc pear is 86, a Bartlett is 100ba and a D’Anjou is 122. How can one lose weight counting ALL calories if they is no distinction between variates or size. I wish I could return this item.

Food Counters Pocket Edition is useless for cooks.
This book is probably great for people who eat out a lot. It is pretty frustrating for people who cook. All ingredients are listed in alphabetic order so there are cheese then crackers and later on will come milk, oh but 1/2&1/2 and cream aren’t listed with milk. I wish they had major categories like, meat, dairy, vegetables, grains, fruit. The meats are all scattered. Chicken under “c” and beef under “b” and so on. Rolled oats are not with the oats. Brown rice is only listed as instant. This was a waste of money for me. I can’t return it because I marked in it before I realized how terribly inconvenient it is to look anything up. The index is not too helpful.

This book contains so much info on carb counting for almost every food imaginable, including meals at a lot of restaurants. It’s also a small book so easy to take along everywhere I go.

Protein count was incorrect on several items, especially vegetables. This count is important for people with kidney problems. I threw the book away.
