I’m pleasantly surprised!
Originally, I was browsing for a treadmill, but I really wanted something that would develop stronger muscles for walking uphill or step climbing (a few months ago I walked the length of the Grand Canyon, rim to rim, and I want to stay in shape for the next trip). When I read the reviews for this piece of equipment, I was still slightly undecided about it, but I chose to take the risk.I’ve only had it for three days. I am 5′ 11″, 205 lbs., and 69 years old.I had no problems putting it together; the base comes already assembled. The only assembly needed is with the vertical upright. I was very careful with the assembly instructions, and it took about 30 minutes to set up. But I went very slow. The equipment is made in China (imagine that!), so the instructions lack proper English, but they’re manageable. The front of the base has a knob that will adjust the tension. The stepper makes very little noise; it’s hardly noticeable.The base is approximately 18″ by 18″.Also, there’s nothing to plug in.Before ordering, I thought that the handle would be too low for me, but it’s the perfect height. I have mine set at optimum height (same as in the picture in the ad).Initially, I only took about 50 steps, and I was already breathing hard, so I got some rest. I felt that my leg muscles were receiving the exercise that I was looking for. Three days later, I’m doing 200 steps and then stopping. The air cylinders get pretty warm. I check the stepper every time I get off of it, looking for damage or anything loose. So far, everything is fine.I’ve also discovered an added bonus: I can place my hands on the bottom horizontal part of the handle (grip tighly) and slightly lean forward while stepping. As I take the steps, I slightly push up on my upper body with my arms, causing my biceps, triceps, and chest muscles to also get a workout, along with my legs. I just have to be careful not to lean forward too much, so I won’t fall frontwards. So be very careful with this.As mentioned above, I’ve only had this equipment for three days. But so far, I am pleasantly surprised. Turns out that it was exactly what I wanted. And the price is very reasonable.UPDATE: I’ve had this stepper for almost 8 weeks. I have worked up to 3,000 steps a day. However, when I get near 700 steps, it begins to squeal. I’ve used different lubricating sprays, but the noise is still annoying. I finally found something that works: I place a small fan on the floor, directly in front of the red tension knob of the stepper. This cools down the bottom area, and that eliminates the noise.I’m still satisfied with the purchase.

Very compact and great for small spaces.It is much sturdier than I thought it would be. Came almost completely assembled. very detailed instructions and easy to put the rest together. (Less than 15 minutes for someone thatâs not very technical.).One thing to note is the battery for the display was shrink wrapped in plastic. Once I realized that and removed plastic, the display workedð I am VERY happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

Was looking for something with a small footprint to use for some cardio exercise.The good: Inexpensive for something that can get your heart pumping, takes up little floor space and is light enough to easily move around even to different rooms if desired. I also have a recumbent bike and 10 minutes on this will get my thighs more tired than the max resistance on the bike.The not so great:SHOULD be fairly easy to assemble but the tolerances are such that some bolts don’t align perfectly and are difficult to insert and turn.There’s a supposed adjustment for the length of step but it doesn’t seem to make much difference; also there’s no resistance adjustment per se. Because the resistance is provided by air cylinders, they heat up and there’s a warning about not using for more than 15 minutes at a time so the cylinders don’t overheat.All in all, not perfect but for the price a good, compact way of getting in some quick exercise.

Highly recommended if youâre someone tight on space and this provides a surprising amount of resistance.It came nearly assembled and I was working out with it the next 10 minutes after opening the box. Was looking for something exactly like this! It is sturdy and I never feel like iâm going to lose my balance not using the handles, making me engage my core. Great for hopping on and off if you want to burn some quick calories if you have free time in between tasks/chores. Iâve used this thing at least an hour a day since I got it a week ago and I could not be happier. I know my knees and ankles are thanking meIt is a fantastic value for the standard selling price but an absolute no brainer if you can get it on sale

Solid construction. I have a regular stepper that I use for speed stepping. This one I use for power stepping as it gives you a workout. I highly recommend it. Electronics work perfect.

I’m disappointed. Putting together was easy but the bolts that go into main post 3 bolts when screwed in all the way keep spinning so they aren’t tight. I’m alittle concerned about that and doesn’t feel safe since my wife with chemo induced neurophaphy will be using to help her keep leg muscles and blood supply healthy. I pitbup against wall because she doesnt have good balance and it’s not sturdy. As far as the tension goes there’s a metal cord in plastic around a pulley and there’s a knob with no marking on it that you turn to raise pedals or lower. I had to put no tension and it’s pretty hard to step down and I’m not in bad shape. It does tip forward when not on it.I will keep because honestly I don’t wanna deal with returning it. I may buy a bolt lock liquid for the bolts that don’t tighten.I mean it will do the job , it’s not heavy and takes up hardly any space. I will just have to monitor my wife when she uses it so she doesn’t fall. I mean it is not much money but for even 90 bucks you want a safe product. It does make noise when using it and I’m not sure it’s supposed to. When holding the handles it is a bit wobbly on the main m pole. It is what it is I guess.Update I have ordered another brand that’s much sturdier and safer for my wife.
