    Phenomenal book. Love it😊
I was wanting to do noom but I don’t have a phone to support it & I didn’t feel like paying $60 a month either. So i started researching for books that use CBT & NLP for weightloss This way I have it forever & can go back to review it. The way she words things, made me go ‘yep, I have said that & or done that`. If you are serious about your health I highly suggest it. I also suggest that you be responsible & do some labwork..i have autoimmune issues so I have to keep an eye on that. I also took a GI360 micro biome test to see what was going on in my gut–turns out my poor sleep is coming from my gut due to it not making butyrate & etc. and my gut has also assisted in giving me osteopenia due to things blocking calcium etc. absorption . You also need to be aware of your bodies cravings. I have certain cravings that have turned out to be an electrolyte deficit in my body. So work on your body with some lab tests if you can while you read this & take notes. & then you can have a plan of action. There is nothing tricky in this book. Anyone can do this, you do not need anything other than a tablet or a calender in which to monitor your food & exercise. I use a special calender to keep it all in one place for tracking my meals & exercise. I have read 9 books & This is the best.

Not a diet. Not just about food.
This book is excellent. In addition to helping me with my food issues, it’s helped me improve my life overall. I struggle with anxiety and depression and over the years have developed some very disordered eating habits, namely, binge eating and emotional eating. I came to this book after years of diets/fasts that did more harm than good and more recently I dabbled in intuitive eating. While there are several aspects of intuitive eating that I liked, overall it just didn’t sit well with me. Eliza’s book provides a cognitive behavioral approach to eating. I use to food to cope – to numb feelings, distract myself, etc. This book gives me the tools to address those feelings and to deal with my issues – to figure out why I binge and how I can change that. I’ve read so much about binge and emotional eating and this is the only book that has helped me. It is also feels a lot like going to therapy. After all, it’s written by a therapist. I still have a long way to go, but my relationship with food is improving along with all aspects of my life. I first got the book on Audible. It’s narrated by Eliza herself and it’s great. After I finished, I bought the hard back so I could easily go back to review parts, highlight, make notes. I also downloaded all of her worksheets from her website. Highly recommend!

Great way to look at life and food
I enjoyed the book, it was easy to read and the resources from the website are great. I know i am going to re-read the book (possibly a few times) and I’m trying to meet my goals.I have it 4 stars instead of 5 for a few reasons:Some of the additional book resources were not there. It wants me to pledge to walk 10,000 steps a day at least and I have some impediments (RA, Fibro) that make that difficult. I was doing 3,000 steps for a bit, but found myself sneak eating i did it so I stopped walking and started Tai chi. Also, I’m in ww online and track my food thru there and while i have and will try to eat healthier things I still eat everyday food from time to time though I did learn i have to be more careful with serving sizes. But i liked the book and instructions with in it and am going to add this to what i am doing to get even healthier and try to become a long term weight loss. I know this is going to be the rest of my life and that’s alright. I can do this.

    really good book!
This will open your eyes about how our minds work about food. I can relate to a lot of the things said in this book so now I know what to change although I know it won’t be easy and will need reinforcement. I think I should’ve bought the hard copy so I can keep going back to the pages easily to remind me about the steps to take.. etc. Oh well.

Enjoyed the e-book so I bought the hardcover.
I was listening to this book on Audible (if you don’t have a subscription to Audible I give that 5-stars, too!) and I just knew I wanted to have the hardcover for future reference as well. It’s a great read. It’s basically a round of cognitive-behavioral therapy in book format. If you’re a therapist looking for a great recommendation for clients to help develop a healthier relationship with food, this is the resource you’ve been searching for.

A great resource for doctors and patients alike
I am a physician who specializes in obesity medicine. I think this book is an excellent read and it has influenced my practice. I often recommend my patients read it as well. It is a quick read and geared toward the patient, but useful for healthcare professionals as well.

    Good book, great approach
I have not finished this book yet, I’m about a quarter of the way through it, but I like where it is going and it is making sense to me so far. It is easy to read and understand. You will be asked to do some writing, answering questions, keeping a journal etc, which I think is important but not everyone has the time to do all of that all the time, but having said that, I guess if you want it to work for you then you need to make the time. I like the fact that you can go to her website and download the forms needed for writing for free. AS far as I can tell, It will be a good book to have on hand.
