Gives my curly hair volume with tight curls.
The MELYDO 1/2 Inch Small Curling Iron Wand heats up in increments from 60 to 230. I have to use high heat and wasn’t sure 230 would be hot enough but wow it is. So much so that my hair smokes while curling. I have very long curly hair and sometimes I like to add volume with extra curls all around my head. This curling iron gives you tight curls but I brush them out to look more natural like my curl pattern. I’ve had the same small curling iron for ages and it’s starring to rust so this was a great replacement. One complaint. It does have a swivel cord which normally is a benefit but this one is bulky and it makes it so the iron slides off my counter. I have to have it sitting just right so it won’t fall off.

I am very happy with this curling iron. Iâm a hairdresser and pretty picky when it comes to irons. It does get really hot, so I wouldnât use it hotter than the initial setting of 180.

Makes pretty hair!
It has been difficult to find a curling iron that works for my short, fine, thinning hair but this 1/2″ curling iron from Melydo gets the job done.It has 18 different heat settings and there is a guide on the listing page that tells you what setting is best for your hair type. They have also included a heat resistant glove for the clumsy, so I made sure to wear it! The controls are very easy, just turn it on and use the arrows to set it to the heat that you want. It heats up very quickly and has a wire loop thingy that will prop it up off the counter top. When not in use the loop thing flips down to hug the iron barrel.The cord is plenty long enough to stand a couple feet away and reach all areas of the head, plus it’s nice that the swivel on the cord actually works really well. It’s lightweight so easily packable, but it would be nice if they had included a drawstring travel bag with it.Any-hoo, this little curling iron did a great job of curling my short, fine hair. Because the diameter of the barrel is so small, I’m able to get it closer to my scalp without burning. Another great feature is the clamp, which has a nice rubber thumb grip on it and the clamp itself is as long as the curling barrel! This is great because if I’m trying to curl a wider hank of hair the clamp will grab all of it.I also like that the cooling tip is actually long enough for two or three fingers to hold the end of the wand, and it really does stay cool. One feature that I wish was a little different is the auto shut off, which is 60 minutes. That is a long time to leave an appliance turned on, I wish it were 30 minutes.All in all, I am really pleased with this curling iron, it has some great features and did a wonderful job curling every bit of my hair. At time of this review, this curling iron is selling for $22.99, and I believe it’s worth every penny of that..

MELYDO 1/2 Inch Small Curling Iron Wand
This curling iron is ideal for short hair. I use it on my elderly mom when we have an event and she wants to look more formal. It heats up quickly and gives nice, clear curls that last. I’d recommend it for short hair. I haven’t used it for longer hair, though, so I don’t know how well it would work, although it seems it would work fine!

Works well on short hair
This wand is replacing one I’ve had since the early 90s and it’s a true upgrade. It has all the features I wanted. It heats up quickly, has a digital screen, adjustable temperature options, a counter rest that drops out of the way when you’re ready to use it, a swivel cord so the cord stays out of your way, and the cord is long enough for me to feel comfortable using it instead of tethered. I say it works great with short hair because that’s what I have right now, but it would also give very nice spirals in longer hair. It works great and is affordable at this price point.
