I love this book for teaching/reviewing sight words with my very hesitant second grade reader. This book is good for review after all the words have been learned. I wanted to use this book in companion to another scholastic book to teach sight words but i didn’t find it useful.

For “precision” teaching (that is newspeak for rote learning) of the first 100 sight words this is excellent. It reinforces the learning by re-visiting the words in a variety of ways and at the back of the book there are the 100 words that can be laminated and cut up into cards. Every week I photocopy last weeks activities and words for the children to take home so they can do the activities again as homework.
