One week of planning down!
I made a few resolutions for 2021, and one of them is to become more organized. Every so often, I manage to scrape together a meal plan for the week and it makes everything flow so much easier! But, I only manage to do this âevery once in a whileâ…as in âevery once in a blue moon.âI think this planner is a game changer. The author has laid everything out in a really simple, logical manner. Sheâs not judgy and I really feel like her honest intention is to help people organize simple, healthy meals for their families. I have her cookbooks and they have been my go-tos when I need a recipe that doesnât have a ton of ingredients and that is actually really good! (Until now, I have thrown those recipes together on a whim…stressed out bc it wasnât in my plan!)Iâm in the middle of my first week and can say that I felt amazing after I made my plan, wrote it down, made my shopping list, ordered my groceries….I hung the weekly menu on my fridge and my family has been checking it out….They havenât had to ask me, âWhatâs for dinner?â I havenât had to figure it out at the last minute. We havenât ordered out because we know we have one day on the menu where we plan to go out or order out…and that day is Saturday (though we can move it if necessary). During covid, we have been ordering out too much. I think having the âoneâ restaurant day on the weekly plan is giving my family something to look forward to….I think theyâre also looking forward to trying the new recipes on the menu rotation.Yes…It sounds so easy to just make a plan and make it happen. And, if youâre great at that, more power to you. But, with our hectic school and ever- changing work schedules and sports schedules, I havenât been able to master the meal planning. I just really like the way this book has been laid out and look forward to filling my 52 weeks of meal plans! So far, Iâm a HUGE fan!

Very nice organizer
I enjoy the organizer. I was writing my menu on a piece of notebook paper that would get lost throughout the week so itâs nice having the menu in a guaranteed spot. I also like having my shopping list right next to the menu-very convenient. My daughters LOVE the school checklist and are more adventurous with their food choices because of it. I thinks itâs easier for them to have the choices where they can see them rather than trying to come up with ideas on their own.I did take one star off for the laminated menu. It was a great idea but it is really hard to erase. Also, for anyone not familiar with 100 Days of Real Food, I find that her recipes are a hit or miss. So, as with her cookbooks, I found some of the recipes were good and some I wonât be making a second time. I didnât take off any stars for that since it is more of my personal taste.

One tool ALL home cooks need!
I absolutely love this planner!! It pulls everything together. It makes the job of figuring out what’s for dinner so much easier! Tear out shopping list, a place to plan out your menu and then a dry erase menu “board” to post on fridge so your family knows what is for dinner each day. There is also a dry erase list of lunch and snack ideas! If you need your menu planning streamlined, this is the tool for you!! It has settled the dreaded “What’s for dinner?” question! It also makes grocery shopping a breeze, with the shopping list.I post the menu and the lunch/ snack card on the fridge right beside my “What are we out of” white board. This little planner has helped make my worst chore (grocery shopping) one of my favorites!

Good idea not great layout.
I love the idea of this planner and the ease of use. However, It really only helps in planning dinner. There isn’t much space for breakfast, lunch and snacks. I don’t know about you but we make and eat 3 meals a day plus a snack or two so we also need to plan those meals. I got too frustrated with this layout so I used the top dinner ideas portion as breakfast and the bottom as lunch ideas with the snacks on the side. I also do not understand the jot down shopping list when you clearly have a full grocery shopping layout on the page beside it.Lisa is great and I love her products but this one is a miss for me. There’s no way to add more pages (like a refill pack) to these so once you ripped out all 52 weeks you’re left with a mostly empty “book” of some recipes that you cannot add more planning pages too. Of course there aren’t any refill pages but that would have been nice.I won’t be repurchasing this again but it may be great if you are a dinner only planner.

Practical
Week 3 of using this meal planner. I tried to revert to my old habit of writing a list on my phone and I came back because this is so much easier to shop with the supermarket template. This picture spread is of a busy weekend cooking for a crowd. A mess is better on paper than in my mind!I can shop with cash, 3 toddlers, in a hurry-all so much more easily when I have my list. Also, cooking has been a breeze and we have not had wasted food! We have actually ate what was planned 6/7 days. And if I realize I have a bunch of food left one week, I just start a new menu plan and use up all my available food before having to shop again.

I know this book would be perfect for someone just starting to meal plan as well.Start the new year meal planning and having healthy food ready for your family each day. Just received this today , have already recommended to my sisters. This book is so well laid out and planned! After 20 years of planning on the fly , this seems like itâll do the trick to get me organized. Only negative is I wish it came with a dry erase marker so I didnât have to run out to buy one .

Thinking I may have ordered the wrong book here. One third of it is just blank weekly templates, not many recipes and a whole load of how to be organised.
