A good selection of age-appropriate sight words.
This workbook seems like a good choice for summer work between the end of second grade and the beginning of third. It contains 100 common words that are not exactly intuitive and must be memorized, yet they are words that are likely to come up in age-appropriate reading material. Like in school, each week we work (over and over) on a group of around 10 sight words. It is a routine that my grandson is familiar with and continuing it over the summer ensures that he won’t lose ground. For this summer, I got this book, a math book that reviews 2nd grade, and a geography book to teach not only geographical concepts but following instructions and reading comprehension. I think all disciplines are covered.I hope that all the kids in his class will be doing summer work so that, when school starts, they will be ready to advance to new material instead of getting bogged down reviewing forgotten material for the first few weeks.

Very basic..
I got this book for my going-into-third-grader and it’s way too simple/easy for her. If you’re looking for something that takes under about 10 minutes per page, it might be for you. However, we were hoping for something a bit more advanced.
