    Great variety!
I have had this book for quite a while, and the fact that it is still on my very limited bookshelf is a testament to it’s value! I am a long time exerciser and there is nothing really new in this book that you can’t piece together from numerous magazines and other books… That said, why keep a bunch of magazine clippings and 6 additional books when you have everything put together in just one small volume??? The book is well organized, presents many varied routines for each muscle group with a variety of equipment, and I love it. This book (101 Workouts for Women), Strength Training Anatomy-3rd Edition, and The Athlete’s Pocket Guide to Yoga: 50 Routines for Flexibility, Balance, and Focus are the only 3 books that have stood the test of time on my bookshelf and I highly recommend them above all others! As a side note, these are all strictly exercise books and do not include anything of value regarding nutrition.

    Informative and full of pictures
This book is pretty good. It did have colored pictures of most exercises and descriptions included, so that was nice. Also, it broke things down into upper body, lower body, ect. so you can flip right to the section you need. It had a variety of workouts, like ones to do at the gym, and ones you could do at home with balls, bands, and body weight in case you couldn’t get to the gym. If you are a beginner, this book would be awesome. As someone who already works out a lot, I still saw a few things in here that I hadn’t tried. The only reason I gave it four instead of five on the stars is that I would like to have seen it broken down even further into sections. What kind of workout book for women doesn’t have a butt/glute section? It was just included in the leg section, and in the description some said what the exercise worked specifically and some did not. With that said though, I did find the book very informative overall and would recommend it to anyone. It’s probably one of the better workout books I have bought yet.

    My MAIN workout guide!
I didn’t want to pay 300.00 for a trainer–so I decided to look for an informative and affordable substitute. I love this book-it is only an exercise book (does not cover meal plans). It is sturdy and wont tare after much use, pages are thick and colorful. Instructions have helped me to get the most out of my exercise routine. It shows each exercise in details, the proper technique and the amount of time for each one. It covers each part of the body and different female models. Instructions are easy to follow. A few exercise you could work from home without equipment but most exercise uses equipment or weights.

This book is kicking me into shape
This book is so good that I am sometimes afraid to use it. I have several workout books that I use to just go along on autopilot and not give up on my workout too early (or get so carried away that I never want to return to the gym), and this book is really the toughest. The workouts are all easy enough to accomplish, but every one of them really burns the next day. The best thing about this book is that there really are 101 workouts! This is a perfect book for people who are looking for toning-up workout programs that really work.

OK, but there are better books out there.
I bought this book and another similar book at the same time. I wish I hadn’t spent the money on this one. The Women’s Health Big Book of Exercises: Four Weeks to a Leaner, Sexier, Healthier YOU! is a better book.I love the M&F Hers magazine; the workouts often inspire me and are usually preferable to the wimpy workouts suggested by other women’s magazines. This book did not live up. It felt like they just took all those magazine speads and crammed them into a smaller page. Each workout in the bodypart ares is three or four exercises for that bodypart, and they tended to be repetitive. The photos not very attractive unless you like bulky, man-like physiques, and I just didn’t enjoy going through it. The workout is often in a different color or different spot on the page, and consistency in that would have made it easier to use (this is a reference book, after all.) It does have several workouts for each body part, and they do a good job of beginner, intermediate, advanced options. In the later portion of the book, where they provide more extensive upper, lower, total body workouts is somewhat more helpful, too. The index is useful. But there was a lot of wasted space (showing an exercise for a particular body part several times within that bodypart section of the book) and it felt like they were just trying to bulki it up to sell it for more money.Overall, I found that in the future, I’ll stick with the magazine and skip any books they put out. I think I’ll use the Women’s Health Big Book of Exercises more. This one isn’t bad, and it wasn’t a total waste of my money – I’ll use it to some extent. I just don’t like it as much as some of the other options.

    Awesome book!
My old routine was getting real boring so I bought this book and I love it! It gives you many workouts for each body part (abs, biceps, triceps, back, shoulders, chest, legs), and then gives combo workouts. The pictures are great. I want my body to look like those girls’ but I don’t see that hapenning anytime soon 🙂 Awesome book for girls who workout and need a new routine.

The guide is very clear, but I wouldn’t exactly call it a workout book. It clearly demonstrates the moves, which are categorised into muscle groups, but it lacks examples of workout sessions. I expected to see workout routines for either the complete body or dedicated muscle groups. I am experienced so I can put together a routine, but for the uninitiated it will be unclear what exercises to combine to give a balanced workout.
