For a grill that didn’t have one
Bought this for a new grill that didn’t come with one.Works great, was easy to install. You drill into the grill itself, and then push this through, and then putting the enclosed screw to hold it against the grill top. Before I permanently installed it, I used a hole on the side, and it works fine that way too.It is larger than anyone I’ve seen (including the ones that come with grills) so it’s easy to read, and it has the colors too.I’ve heard problems with some of these whereby it gets too hot and the temperature sensor gets cloudy or stops working. I’ve had the top closed for a good hour on full blast, and this hasn’t been the case for this one.I give 5 stars when I don’t have anything to ding it for. In this case I don’t although it’s also very simple.

Best Thermometer
Needed a dependable thermometers for my ECB and my New Bruansfel smokers. Tried different types but couldn’t get any accurate readings and the weber thermometers where always out of stock when ever I tried to buy one. So I stumble across this thermometer and notice nothing but good reviews so I figured what the heck. This was the greatest purchase ever!!! Gives temps accurately, the dial is very easy to read. The 3 different color zones make so you can glance from a distance and tell your temps. And if you do need to calibrate this thermometer its done by a little screw in the back. Installation was also very easy, came with all you need. Drill your hole insert the stem screw it down 10-15 min tops. All in all I’m very happy with my purchase and will be buying these for all my grilling needs. I would strongly recommend these for any one who is serious about there grilling or any casual grill jockey who wants to have good temp control.

Junk, Junk, Junk!
After the first rain, the thermometer was filled with condensation and barely readable. Compared to the ambient temperature reading on my Meater thermometer, there was a difference of over 150 degrees. Returning.

Great product, but you should know….
This seems like the perfect grill thermometer. Feels heavy duty and like others, I checked the accuracy in boiling water. Right in the 210-215 range. I would just like people to know that it takes a 1/2″ drill bit to install on grills that don’t already have a hole. I mention this because I expect many people either don’t have a bit that big or a drill that will accept it. That group incudes me. I just used the biggest bit I have and sort of “wallerd” it out, if you know what I mean. (That’s how we talk in Texas) I put mine in my Weber 22.5 and it looks like it came from the factory with it. I’ll add a pic if I can.

Works as intended. Added it on to my smoker and it’s doing the job. Accurate enough for someone new to smoking like myself. Brisket, pork shoulder, and pork ribs have come out great using this thing.
