In winter, all liquid will be in the bulb as it will show room temperature. You can use it without shaking it the first time when you take it out of the box. If not, please reset (shake) the thermometer before using it.
It is designed to have a stop feature in the tube, this helps you to lock the data. It can rise, but it can’t go down automatically unless you shake it (tip down)
Change the view angle slightly 3 to 5 degrees by rotating the thermometer, so you can easily read your temperature.
Don’t put it in hot water since the high temperature will be out of range of the thermometer, causing it to break.
Don’t put it in the refrigerator or in cold water to reset it, the only way to get the liquid to go down is to vigorously shake the thermometer.

Garbage
These thermometers are such garbage, it’s like the manufacturer wasn’t even trying to design something that had any hope of working. When mine arrived, one of them was already broken. The inner tube, containing the fluid, was broken so that one was useless. The second one was intact, but it was entirely inaccurate. The fluid never climbed any higher than 92*. Useless.

Old fashioned thermometer
I just want to read my temp and go back to bed. Forget bluetooth and battery worries. Just give me an old style glass thermometer.

I had to return it and pay the return shipment. STAY AWAY. Waste of time and money. Ended up buying a thermometer from a local pharmacy for $8
