Very tuff with a great grip
I recently added these to my Trekking poles, after being totally dissatisfied with the standard/stock type that came on my Ascend carbon poles. So far I only have two hikes on them, for a total of about 6.12 milesâ¦. But; i did about 1,650â of ascent in that time, in rocky terrain, really pushing on the poles while climbing. They show very little wear, and Iâm 195 lbs, not going easy, and the rock is Jackfork Sandstone; VERY gritty and abrasive. Iâm looking at one of my poles right now, with a new one next to it. The stock models lasted me LESS than one hike of shorter average distance and ascent, and were completely worn thru on the bottom!ð¤ðð£The rear facing cleats really help with traction when going uphill in the dry dirt, gravel and rock where I hike. For the cost, if I needed to replace these after 8-10 average hikes, thatâs worth it to me!ð¤

It works!!
Easy to install, very sturdy and looks to last many miles. Helps to take the stress off your joints by 25% per University of Oklahoma study. I used the regular tips on my trekking poles and felt the jolts. Put these boots on and no more jolting and smooth trekking. Felt really nice to not have the knees popping and such. Great value for your money.

Best for concrete or asphalt
Bought these for Nordic walking. They fit my Black Diamonds perfectly. The first pair wore out very quickly when I was using them on the walking/running track at the local park. The track is a sort of hard packed sand track and traction was poor too.Decided to see how they’d do if I only used them on concrete or asphalt and they performed really well and are hardly showing any wear whatsoever.Very happy with my purchase now that I’ve figured out where to use them.

The grip on paved surfaces is measurability better than just rubber tips
The product is easy to install, but think a minute about the correct alignment and don’t get discouraged because the existing tips may be a bit difficult to remove. when you walk you will notice an immediate improvement in the grip on paved surfaces. I have noticed that with the arrival of fall and wet leaves this design is still better that the traditional tip. The groves require a check from time to time to insure they do not fill with mus, gum, whatever. I am a senior casual walker, but these are worth the investment.

Great design – poorly made !
This is a great design for trekking pole tips, but they are poorly made. The titanium tip on my LEKI trekking poles break through the rubber of these tips after less then a week.I walk about 3 miles every day, so they get use. Even so I shouldnât have to change them every week to a few days â¦.This design is still the best shape for my style of walking. They need to be manufactured better !!!!

Updated: Hard Plastic and Seem to Wear Quickly Anyway – Very Quickly Actually
These are essentially hard plastic, meaning they provide little grip on concrete and less on asphalt surfaces. On natural trails they are marginally better but certainly not great. Being hard plastic they are inordinately loud to the point of distraction when used on paved surfaces like sidewalks. The rubber tips that originally came with my poles were much softer and as a result did wear fairly fast They were quite grippy and quiet however. I had hoped that these would be a bit of a compromise between resistance to wear and grip, but at this point it looks like they are wearing at a similar rate but provide less grip. I am not sure how long these will last, but I will update when they wear thru. My guess is it will be less than 50 miles, which for me is about two weeks which would be disappointing. At least they were inexpensive.Update on longevity: I have used the first pair of these for a total of 17 miles of walking (just 2 days of walking for me), with only 10 miles of that being on concrete or asphalt. The treads are nearly completely worn off on both, and a hole at the end of the pole tip is just about completely through one side (see photo), and started on the other. When walking on sidewalks, I alternated walking near one side or the other of the sidewalk so I could use one pole in the grass so I was purposely trying to extend their life, and I don’t drag the tips across the surface when walking or otherwise abuse them. The set of tips that came with my very inexpensive Cascade poles lasted at least 140 miles of very similar walking and probably more before requiring replacement. It is unacceptable that these tips barely lasted over *10 miles* before being worn out. I would recommend not purchasing these but rather buying literally any other brand as they can’t possibly be less durable. Given the other drawbacks of these tips mentioned previously and now the durability issues, there is simply no way I would recommend these to anyone. I am reducing my rating to one star from two.

Not flat or stable, they rock back and forth
They are not flat, the hope was bigger footing for rocks. Instead you get less contact with the ground. Works on flat ground but better of with regular rubber adapters for uphill.

I used these tips on my Nordic walking poles and they worked great. The rubber is harder than some other tips I had bought and so they last much longer. Most of my walks are on paved pathways.

I love these tips, as I pole walk 5 to 6 times a week for 6 to 8 km. They are durable, and have amazing wear and tear. They are well worth the money.
