Even though I know you’re meant to start off your day with this book, due to having more time in the evenings, I prefer to sit down and read the day’s wisdom before I literally call it a day. I love the uncanny coincidence when the advice virtually mirrors the day I just had.This happened recently on a rainy day that turned my mood sour. Nita’s advice was, “What if you removed any judgment and responded instead instead of rebelling against “bad” weather. Don’t deny any discomfort. But notice if the story you’ve created caused the discomfort, or if it makes it worse. What happens when you drop the story?”Once I considered that I stopped feeling sorry for myself sitting in the rain all day at a concert. It’s always easier to feel sorry for yourself, but once I stopped feeling like a victim and instead felt a camaraderie with my fellow concert goers (who were equally as drenched as me) I was better able to put a positive spin on the day.I’ve definitely learned a lot from reading her book and intend to hold on to it to refer back to in the future.
