My 7 year old son loved this book about President Lincoln. The entire series of National Geographic Readers is very well done, which interesting facts and photographs. The content is presented in a colorful and kid-friendly format.

Great book! My son had to do a biography book report and wasn’t thrilled about it. But I bought him this book and he actually got into it! He enjoyed reading it and got a lot of neat facts for his report. And he even enjoyed doing his book report. He is on a 2nd to beginning 3rd grade reading level.

A bit violent
I’ve been giving the National Geographic books series for kids five stars, but this one will get four stars. The content is great, except I had to block out the assassination part with a sticky note so my kids wouldn’t see it. With the gun violence we’re currently experiencing in our country, I do have to warn that this book shouldn’t be shown to children as young as 6, in my honest opinion. If you’re a teacher, be prepared for questions — and I mean TONS of questions!
