This heartbeat kit number is a real dazzler; and will forever be iconic because it will invariably be associated with Leo Messi’s arrival in Summer 2023 and that incredible run to the Leagues Cup and winning it…with IMCF winning their first title as well. Next year Inter Miami and Messi will have Suarez added to the team and they will have a new team sponsor with the Royal Caribbean Group. As such, I just felt I needed to capture a slice of this moment and pass on a piece of history to my nephew with this purchase for him. This came absolutely perfectly – superb item as always from Adidas and Amazon US. Thank you! Btw, its the little intricate detailing that make this kit a gem – David Beckham said he personally offered input as an ex-PRO in the design and specifics of this kit and it shows – everything from etched heart rate ECG heartline graphs on the sleeve ridges through to a unique Maradona in Napoli 1986-88 Buitoni style in-flared collar; or Marc Anthony’s handwriting (being Beckham’s good friend) font for the inscription about “Freedom to Dream” (in Spanish) on the back of the top. This particular kit is also special because it is the fan version – meaning the three Adidas stripes on the shoulder are not screen printed on (the players version have them that way to make the kit lighter for matchday situations) and that means this one won’t tear off or fade with time as the players version one will since the stripes are stitched on neatly and permanently. That applies to the stitched on badge as well; great sewn on piece of embroidery, and it won’t just pop off after a few years like the heat applied players’ version one will. So in essence, the only sacrifice you are making from the players’ version is you miss out on the the microdot rear panel (for heat release- again for matchday situations) in exchange for a single panel rear…but I think for young ones and teens, especially if you’re not a pro or junior semi pro, this is the version for keeping long term because it also is still nevertheless an Aeroready piece- even the players’ version is not the Heat Rdy version (perhaps next year Adidas will allocate that resource because IMCF has now become a “big international” global team), which in a sense may be the only thing I suppose the true “Pre-Messi” IMCF fans who are the real heartbeat of the club will reflect on if at all. However, those kinds of things don’t really matter one bit, because overall, the kit just works all round; and although we weren’t saying that necessarily when Msieur Higuain and co were all wearing it in the kit’s first year in 22, perhaps, understandbly, it really is just the romance of Messi’s first foray with Miami. Again, whatever the case and truth of it might be, like Messi’s Leagues Cup win, it captures a memory of history from the summer of 2023, and that alone, is worth the dazzle for my nephew.
