Its not only well built but the hidden gadgets are really nice. More than detailed in description. Handle doubles as hammer on one side and glass breaker tool on the other end that when screwed off has a hidden compass. The heel of the stick can be unscrewed to reveal a Ferro rod flint fire starter. There is a saw knife for cutting fire wood or brush and folds 90 degrees to become a grappling hook(or a weppon). The second knife which is sharp is to be used with ferro rod or as a spear head. In one section it also includes a shrill whistle to scare of animals or alert other hikers/hunters of your location. All in a camo bag you can hang on your shoulder or belt. It is a satisfying purchase for me.

Comes w/a glass breaking tip
Very sturdy and well made walking stick Reconfigurable, you can adjust handle as a walking stick or cane. Pretty heavy, and with the glass breaker tip, it looks like a weapon (from what my neighbors have told me). It is heavy and solid enough, it should break whatever you hit, tip or not. I find the tools to be completely secondary, nice to have in a pinch, doubt I will ever use them. Cane is much lighter if the tools are removed from their sections and left in the LARGE carrying pouch. Pouch is about the size of a camp spade, I checked to see if there was one included, as that would of been handy. The sections screw together, so there is some options as to where you want the handle and tools. On suggestions read from other reviews, I bought an extra section, but at 6 foot tall, I won’t need it. You can swap around the sections and somwhat customize the length as the tool sections are longer. The base is hard plastic, not grippy at all on smoth or slick surfaces, but that may change with use. Bought the optional tip that reviewers recommended, it’s even slicker, but has a magnesium rod for starting fire.All in all, it is the sturdy cane/walking stick I wanted. I have no doubt it will hold up to my usage.

Self defense
I didn’t buy it for the tools so i can’t have an opinion on that. I bought this product because i spend a lot of time on the hills by myself and have had a few interesting wild animal encounters throughout the years, including being approached by a mountain lion. I doubt this is a comfortable walking stick compared to others so if that’s specifically what you’re looking for I’m not sure this would be the product for you. Besides helping me move weeds out of the way and bringing my confidence up, this product doesn’t necessarily make my hikes easier, but It’s great for me because I want something on hand ready to go in an unexpected moment. Out in the hills I frequent unexpected animal encounters can and have happened. Even though this product doesn’t guarantee my safety, I feel a little more prepared to quickly defend my self on short notice.

Works as advertised.
The cane l I bought had two “survival” tools which I haven’t used yet. I put the cane together and all the pieces fit perfectly. I did use it to walk the dog on the sidewalk at night a few times which left the tip scuffed up. And, as everyone else said, the tip slides on smooth surfaces (tile, hardwood) but grips sidewalk and dirt fairly well.When in pieces this doesn’t feel too heavy, but when the walking stick is put together you can definitely feel the heft. I don’t know if I’d take it on a hike through the mountains, but walking the dog at night or just keeping within arm’s reach at the campsite works great.
