Nice Elkonin Boxes
Product just arrived. Seems to be quality. Two things would make it 5 stars. First there are NO directions on how to use. I’m a teacher so that wasn’t a problem for me but I can see persons without training on Elkonin boxes might be confused. Second. A word list would have been nice. I not sure what the boom box is supposed to represent. I created word cards and I called it music. This could be a problem for ELL persons.

Multifunctional and great for kids
I am an elementary school teacher with kindergarten and first graders, so I am always on the lookout for more fun educational tools to make my lessons more interesting. I love this product because it has more than one function and how I can help my kids learn CVC words. Not only do I have my kids following the instructions and writing the words underneath the picture, but Iâve also been able to take the magnetic pictures and put them on my board and ask my kids to come up with rhymes for the words. Weâve had hours of grate lessons with this product.

Fun and interactive way to help kids learn!!
Such a fun and well made learning kit. The paddles and magnets are heavy duty. The dry erase markers need to be wiped off with a stronger eraser than the ones on the end of the markers, but with a damp paper towel, they wipe off clean. The paddles are double sided, which is so helpful and fun! After writing the sounds of a word and blending them together, Iâve let my kiddos draw their own picture of the word on the blank back side. Such a fun and interactive way to help kids learn! I couldnât be more excited about this product!

Excellent tool for learning to read
This toy can be used in many different ways, from prereader-elementary. From sounding words out, spelling, syllables, and the list goes on. My preschool-aged daughter has really enjoyed the dry-erase feature with the paddle boards. Another great feature is the markers themselves. They have a nice tip similar to a pencil, have an eraser on the cap, and include a magnetic which sticks to the paddles. The red and blue foam pieces do show wear and tear easily as well the paddle does scratch. But for as much use as we get out of it, this set is worth it.

Quality Word Building Educational Tool
First of all, this phonemic awareness education tool is very impressive in many ways, the sturdiness of the boards and flash cards, the magnetic functions, and the quantity of boards and cards. Especially the boards work on both sides and the surface is so smooth, the dry-erase markers erase easily. You also won’t have to worry about the cards getting bent. However, this is too hard for kindergarten kids. Phonemic awareness is recognizing the smallest units of sounds, which is really quite an advanced skill. This should have ended being a CVC set. The cards are so random that some words are even confusing for adults. Furthermore, the 5 squares are confusing for younger children. Some squares require to write 2 letters(blends, dipthongs, r-controlled vowels, etc.) in them which is difficult for kindergarten kids to understand. On top of that, they get very confused with leaving extra blank squares out. For instance, fr-o-g uses 3 squares and they think something is wrong because 2 squares are unused. In my opinion, this should have ended in just CVC words with just 3 squares. Instead of having such random pictures(Because of this problem there are not that many pictures for any of the phonemes, be it a blend or a dipthong. There are just not that many choices for any of them.) More CVC pictures should have taken the place of all the random picture cards instead. Again, this is based on my opinion. This IS an amazing tool. However, it could have been a lot better. I think, they were trying so hard to cover all the 44 phonemes.
