Bought For The Unique Dew Point Feature…Excellent Price And Performance So Far…
I have to admit I bought this All-sun hygrometer simply because of its price…I have never had any use for the humidity reading on one of these. I got it for its unique dew point feature…For some odd reason, weather people, stations, and even weather sites online tend to ignore the all important dew point which more than anything else relates what it really feels like outside, (or in) as to it being comfortable…Unlike a humidity reading, the dew point is never wrong, or misleading as to comfort. No matter what the temperature is, or humidity, if the dew point is high, its muggy and crappy out. If it’s low, its dry and comfortable. Unfortunately, even the instrument manufacturers haven’t caught on to the significance and importance of the dew point. This piece like all others displays the humidity as the prominent reading, with the temp and dew point being smaller. But as long as I can see it clearly which I can on this I am very satisfied…This was a cinch to set up with the enclosed instructions. In fact the only thing I had to do was put the batteries in it and then switch it from C to F which you have to do on everything these days. The readout is big, very clear, and has excellent contrast. Although it includes a sensor that can be detached and remotely set, like outside a window for example, I have this right on the unit for I like knowing the dew point in my home. Fortunately this mounts easily on the wall, (not all of them do, and some not at all), and I had the perfect location for it…In conclusion, I can well understand depending on some peoples needs and circumstances why a humidity reading is very important. Humidors, wine cellars, etc…But for me I am interested in the dew point reading, and this unit does that for much cheaper than any one I could find on Amazon at the time of this writing. It’s big, user friendly, and the cost can’t be beat. It’s too early to tell if this will be as durable as I hope. So far it’s doing its job flawlessly. But if it up and quits for any reason in what I consider an unreasonable amount of time, I will certainly be back to update this review. For now, it is so far so good, and I give it a solid 5 stars, and recommended it…

Nice unit inaccurate results
Bought this for the dew point. In Florida it’s very important. Especially if you live in a tin can. If you get moisture in the walls of a mobile home or double wide as I have the interior walls get wet and explode.But itt just doesn’t work temperature always about 8° too high and it can’t calculate a proper dew point if the temp is wrong. Shame cuz it looks like a nice little unit.

Not exactly what I was looking for, but works
I bought this to monitor the humidity in my crawlspace. I was looking for a unit with a sensor on the end of a 6′ or so long cable, as I wanted to install this on the wall on my first floor and run the cable down into my crawlspaceI actually had another unit installed like that, but it had died after 15 years and I was looking for a replacement.) I couldn’t find anything like that anymore – the only ones I could find that let you put the sensor remotely used bluetooth, and therefore the sensor ran on a battery that would need to be replaced periodically. Given the difficulty of getting to the location in my crawlspace where I want the sensor, I needed a wired remote sensor but their were none with a long enough sensor cable so I bought this one and extended the cable myself.After doing all that and hanging the unit on the wall, it works fine, but the controls are a bit hard to use (small buttons, not well marked) and to figure out (you have to hold the reset button for a while to change the unit’s settings). The screen is difficult to read if you aren’t facing it directly. Otherwise, it seems to work and does the job for me. It also isn’t bad looking.

Poor operation UPDATE very satisfied
Have had for 9 months and in MI seemed like it might be working properly although humidity and dew points seemed to not change very much. Now that we are back in FL I know this thing is not working properly. The humidity has never gone below 44% even though the local news had it at 16% when fire warnings were given recently. The other two devices I have were showing low 20’s at the same time. In addition, the dewpoint has never been below 54% even though the local news again has it much lower depending on day of week. Even in an air conditioned porch it does not go below 54%. Emailed company and heard “crickets”. Suggest you not buyUPDATE: Company contacted me and we reached an equitable solution and they have sent new unit which now shows the dew point accurately. Am satisfied with unit and in particular the ALL-SUN customer service.
