I absolutely love this book. As a child of immigrants, seeing their struggles and what they gave up made this book and it’s stories really relatable. Some of the stories made me cry a bit. A beautiful collection of stories
I just received this book yesterday and am only a few chapters in, but I cannot put it down! As a woman who has questioned her own culture identity for years, America’s introduction resonated deeply with me. With each story that follows, I continue to be engaged by the lessons, hardships and knowledge the contributors have experienced throughout their own cultural journeys here in the US. This is an eye-opening, must read!

The book itself is wonderful, but I paid over $30 for a new copy and it’s obviously used. The spine is ripped and crushed and there are stains inside on the pages and under the dust jacket.
