Great for users with low vision!
I’m legally blind. I’ve tried sublingual thermometers, both digital, and analogue (old school), and they’re next to impossible for a person with low vision to use. By the time you get magnifier over them, they’ve adapted to the room’s temperature. LOL. This product has big, easy to see numbers, and a bright, red, or green backlight. Nothing about this display looks faded, at all. It’s brilliant, and vibrant. The start, and end tones help a lot, to let you know when the temperature has been taken. By the way, I tested mine on a room wall, and then went to the thermostat, and noted it’s temperature was fairly close to what I got from the thermometer. Then, I checked with my forehead, and got a good reading. It’s very fast, and once the temperature has been taken, it stops sensing, so what you see, is the exact snapshot of what it measured.
Although the manual was a bit vague, the unit is fairly easy to use.
By the way, I couldn’t help but notice how much this thermometer resembles an hand phaser from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Even the model number has “1701” in it. LOL Very cool.
It also came with two triple A batteries.

Super convenient
I am a nurse and will triage all different age patients. Whether geriatric or newborns. Sometimes the little ones are scared, sick, and very fussy when they come in which makes an oral or rectal temperature difficult and time consuming. This thermometer is very light weight, easy to read, fast, and accurate. I will take this out and get a temperature in a split second. I am very happy with this unit.
My only warning to those buying this. You have to let the person you are using it on be in the same environment for about 15 to 30 mins to be accurate. Meaning if you take a person walking in from the cold outside air, their skin will obviously by colder and this unit reads the coldness. They need to warm up and get acclimated to the room temp b4 taking. Same goes from coming in from the heat and sunshine or rigorous activity.
Once the person is acclimated to the rooms temperature, this unit works quick and accurate with a large easy to read display.

Was looking for a reliable, accurate thermometer that had good reviews and made by a reputable company that stands by their product.
I found it.
First, the price was decent and quite comparable to many others. But the big difference was that the others came with a lot less people reviewing the product, and purchasing at a lower price as well. Plus the others had a higher negative rating/reviews.
The product arrived quickly. Was very simple to use. You put the batteries in, I waited 30 mins. as it came from being outside from the delivery so the thermometer could adjust to room temp. and you hold it to your forehead and push the button and Boom! Done.
It seems durable and constructed well and was most importantly accurate with the temps based on my use of other digital mouth thermometers in the house as well as compared to the thermostat for room temperature. Has a decent warranty as well. Now Iâve only had it a week so we shall see if anything I mentioned should change over time.

~ Never Takes the Same Reading Twice, Even When Temp Taken Right in Succession. ~
I really, really wanted to love this Amplim Hospital Medical Grade Non Contact Clinical Infrared Forehead Thermometer. Been wanting one for a long time. This one has SO many good ratings. Was sure I had found the right one. However, on using this, it never takes the same temperature twice, even when taken right after the last. These three photos are an example of how it works. Never once did it take the same temperature twice no matter who. They were taken right in a row. I guess it gives you somewhat of an idea, but I’m not even sure of that. So disappointed. If anyone knows of one that really, honestly works right, please let me know. Still hunting for one. This one is going back.
