A fantastic book for anyone interested in becoming more flexible.
Even though into my senior years and still do intense workouts six days a week; nevertheless, I have found my age-related problems include a decrease in my flexibility. This is why when I saw this 160-page large format soft cover book (Anatomy of stretching: A guide to increasing your flexibility by Craig Ramsay) on Amazon I purchased it.As always, the delivery service was fast and efficient. I loved this book from the very first page to the end. This fantastic full color with beautiful photographs and illustrations is a must own for anyone who teaches fitness or is a workout fanatic like me. As someone who used to practice and teach various martial arts and was very flexible at one time, this book really has helped me to do more stretching movements in my daily workouts. The book covers stretching for a better life, build a stretching routine, the stretching session, which includes from the foot to the head. It also shows partner stretches, pregnancy stretches, office stretches, foam roller stretches extreme challenge stretches, and the quick stretch program. Included in this book is large poster. This book should be in your personal library as an excellent reference source on flexibility training. I loved it.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Great book for stretches
This is a great book that shows you how to stretch a specific area, or specific muscle. It has great picture detail showing you the proper way to do your stretches and illustrations of the muscle and it’s fibers that are being targeted. It comes with a full color poster that has the most commonly used stretches. It tells you how to elevate or increase the stretch technique. I am a licensed board certified massage therapist and I use this book almost every day for my clients.

Very Comprehensive and Easy to Understand
Although this book is a massive overkill for my purpose, it gave me just what I wanted – stretches for my lower back and neck. This is like an encyclopedia of stretches. It not only gives the stretch, but also a perfectly clear view of the muscles involved. Like I said, way beyond what I needed, but this will be on my shelf for many years and will be used every time I get a new muscle or tendon hurt.

    Beautifully illustrated
This is a beautifully illustrated book. Just about every muscle (including extraocular muscles – those responsible for eye movement) is described in the stretching exercises. (There are none on pelvic floor muscles though!) The main sections of “Stretching Sessions”, “Partner Stretches”, “Pregnancy Stretches”, “Office Stretches”, “Foam Roller Stretches”, “Extreme Challenge”, and recommendations in the “Quick Stretch Program” gives the reader ample guidance to follow. I am a medical doctor, and find this book an interesting and instructive read.

    Wonderful book!
Got this book for Christmas. It is fantastic. The greatest thing about this is that you can simply get on the floor, open up the book and start stretching. The author Craig is beautiful and inspires you to reach the flexibility he has achieved. The poster included is very informative. I am so pleased that I bought this because I sit at a desk all day and worry about my health. Craig even has stretches just for seated office workers like me. A great purchase. And no, I’m not a spammer. I’m a real 42 year old guy.

Excellent book that is easy to follow
I can say enough good things about this book. Finally someone has written a book that fully delves into an area most trainers give short shrift too: how to properly stretch before a workout. There are even sections that simply and clearly give the readers easy ways to merely stretch your muscles to relieve tensions or stiffness that occur during normal day activities. Simple exercises with clear illustrations all intelligently set out.

Brilliant book, would definitely recommend. Good clear pictures of how to do each stretch with good explanation to go with it. Also explains which muscles are being stretched in each exercise and things to avoid doing. This book is for anyone from the beginner, like me, to the experienced athlete – we can all benefit from doing these stretching exercises. It is easy to find the exercises you prefer or need to do and doesn’t have all the technical jargon those in the profession use that just put me off because it is too difficult to understand. This is definitely one of the best books I have purchased.

This book has taught me so much about stretching. The detailed anatomy of each stretch is excellent. With 5 damaged lower vertebrae my physio told me I needed to stretch so with the aid of Craig’s book I set to it . Due to Covid-19 this advice was given via telephone conversation after the physio had studied my scans. When she met me in person a couple of months later she was very surprised I wasn’t in crutches. So many thanks to the author oh and my wife ( for the encouragement) .

If you are prepared to commit 20 mins to half an hour a day, this is perfect for self help with back problems, stiffness in joints & muscles. Highly recommend this as an antidote to early fifties niggles. Particularly with fitness regimes not being as easy as they used to be. I have ‘freed up’ a lot of issues in just two weeks. After having tried various types of massage, acupuncture, chiropractor and physiotherapy. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that work the best. Great illustrations and simple instructions with no mumbo jumbo.
