Helps to understand how things work when we move. I like that it’s so detailed & for the over 50, more doable.

This book series is EXCELLENT, but this book leaves something to be desired.
These Exercise Anatomy books, published by Firefly, are wonderful books: great descriptions, photos, and the anatomy info is a great complement for those of us who like to know about that sort of thing. However, I’d give the info in this book only about two or three stars because it’s so basic and the exercises are so easy. I’m 60 years old and apparently in fabulous condition if this book is anything to go by–ha ha! I had hoped the book would help me develop a challenging-but-doable age-and-body-type-appropriate resistance training program. If you’re just getting started with fitness, this might be a good place to start. I saw that one reviewer said the exercises were too advanced for them; everybody has a different starting level. If you’re already well-versed in basic fitness, try the Encyclopedia of Exercise Anatomy in this series. It’s full of great info!

    YES!
I found a similar book at Sam’s Club and bought for my Personal Trainer daughter for Christmas and she loved it so much I bought this for myself. It has great pictures in it of how to do the exercise explaining what muscles are being innervated with each move. Really great book!

A Great Guide for Exercising Safely
The illustrations are both easy to follow and instructional. I went to physical therapy to recover from an injury and improve my flexibility and strength. My therapist taught me many of the exercises and I took careful notes. However, insurance only pays for a limited number of sessions. This easy to read guide has been a great help in continuing my recovery.

… this to be one of the most informative and useful books for proper exercise I have ever seen
Found this to be one of the most informative and useful books for proper exercise I have ever seen. Mine is a few years old, but bought 2 more for my daughters, who are both in their very early 50’s, and conscientiously exercise. Even if you didn’t use the information to improve your exercise regimen, you would learn a lot about your body.

    Great Book
This is a really good book to have around. I’ve exercised for years, but I’m getting ready to teach a class for seniors, and this will be a big help. It has a good baseline to start with. The pictures are very good.

I love this book. It helps me know where I should feel the muscles working. When looking at the pictures I have realized I did something wrong and did a small adjustment and suddenly the muscle being stretched aligns with the picture. Would absolutely recommend.

Clear illustrations and instructions for proper form. There is more to staying fit than what is covered, but the title does refer to exercise only. Book is excellent value.

Please note, for anyone rehabilitating, most of the exercises in this beautifully illustrated book come with a caveat:”Avoid if you have lower back issues”.
