Higher quality than I was expecting for the price
It works as advertised; it is super easy to operate and read, and as far as I know (I haven’t tested it against a professional medical-grade thermometer) accurate. It does it’s job well. The stem of the probe is flexible, and that’s nice because I tend to bite on my thermometers. If it’s intended to be shared among a household, get some disposable probe covers.
UPDATE: The second one I bought needs a new battery, right after being opened.

Apex Thermometer Easy to Read
Apex thermometer is a nice improvement over my previous one, which was more difficult to read. Easy to read – can even actually see the temperature reading progression while in use. Accurate – tested it compared with a thermometer with proven accuracy. However, it is not “fast or instant read” – actually can take a few minutes to finish recording temperature, and the one I received does not beep as in the product description when the temperature recording has finished.

After working for a day or two (and showing my temperature to be in the expected) mid 98’s, it gradually started reading lower and lower.
I now need to “pre-warm” it in my mouth for a minute or two before even trying to get a reading, and then – if I am lucky – it might get up past 95, possibly even to 97!
Not very useful.
About my rating: while it is fairly easy to read, it just seems like a thermometer that is not accurate – not to mention taking multiple minutes to use – isn’t a great product.

The large numbers, well lit screen, and color coded high/low temp markings make reading this thermometer a breeze, BUT (always the caveat!) it takes well over a minute to register (not the 10 seconds it claims) and its beep is practically inaudible (even for the user), making it difficult to tell when it’s done. It does have a blinking degree mark that stops blinking when the max temp has been reached, but the user can’t see it (too close) and it leaves the person monitoring the thermometer having to keep peeking at the screen to see if it has stopped blinking.
