Good to have
Itâs always good to have a kit like on hand. I supplemented it with a large collapsible camp shovel. And a taser. Ready for anything .

Needs a lot of AAA Batteries
This kit comes with everything you need if you ever have a car breakdown. I don’t like that you have to use so many batteries. For an updated kit, I would prefer that they have all the lights rechargeable and that you could use it as a power bank as well. Also, maybe some more reflectors that don’t use batteries. Clear instructions would have been nice as well.

Good basic equipment with opportunities to improve.
The included equipment is helpful and certainly is more than you would find in most motor vehicles. However, the way that was chosen to power the digital flares was not the best. AAA batteries are actually the worst way to handle it. These should probably have been handled more as “ten year built in battery” that we see now in smoke detectors with an expiration date. Additionally, given the percentage of larger, high power-draw vehicles used in the United States, having set of jumper cables which would support a strong V6 or V8 vehicle needing the engine turned over would be best.In summary, the focus of this kit should be the flare lights, and since they don’t include a reliable power source, I don’t think this can be called an emergency kit.

Complete Kit for Roadside Safety and Emergencies
Understanding is needed when considering this kit. For $40 (at the time of writing) you get a lot of useful stuff for less than buying it all separately. But, you can get better quality if you purchase these things separately. The real question is, does it really matter? Is this sufficient for an emergency and will it last? Hereâs the low down:1. The Vest. I have better that I use for work with more durable materials. The vest in this kit is a nice, bright, neon yellow color with two reflective strips running across it. It will do right in an emergency and should have not problems lasting through several emergencies.2. The Raincoat. Is it cheap? Yes. But it will keep you dry and thatâs whatâs important. Iâm 5â 10â and it extends below my knees. It wonât last as long as the vest but will last if you are careful.3. The Gloves. These are made of thin fabric with rubber nodules on them for grip. These would be helpful to keep your hands clean while changing a tire and doing other things.4. The Tire Gauge. Itâs a pretty standard analogue gauge, nothing special.5. Jumper Cables. These are not the heavy gauge jumper cables so donât expect to be able to jump a larger vehicle; it might work but I wouldnât count on it. Expect to jump a 4 cylinder possibly a 6 cylinder vehicle. There are instructions attached to the cables so the user knows how to properly connect them and in what order.6. Glass Break/Seat Belt Cutter. Itâs fairly standard; just remember to keep this part inside the car with you and not in the trunk.7. Flashlight. Itâs a cheapie, no doubt about it. Itâs worse than the cheapest little one you can get at a dollar store. I would replace it.8. The Blanket. Itâs a basic survivalist blanket not much to talk about; itâll help you stay alive. It measures 130 x 210cm. (Roughly 51 x 82 inches)9. Zip Ties. My kit came with 20 â 8â ties. Iâm not sure what these could be used for but they are there if needed.10. Towing Strap. The towing strap has no weight rating on it but if it follows the pattern of the rest of this kit, donât expect it to handle a large vehicle.11. A Whistle. The whistle is loud and requires minimal breath to blow it.12. Emergency Lights. These have multiple modes â flash (slow/fast), solid, orange light, white light, etc. Each has a fold out plastic hook so they can be hung up somewhere. Each also have a magnet on the back so they can be attached to the side of the car. The magnet holds pretty good. It comes with a stubby screwdriver to remove the backing on the lights so you can insert/replace batteries. Be careful when pulling the backing off using the plastic hook; it might break.13. Carrying Case. Icing on the cake! It fits everything and even has a carrying handle! Now thatâs sprinkles on top!To Note:Batteries not included. You will need 15 AAA batteries to fill everything up. Three less if you ditch the flashlight and get a better one.Is this good enough for an emergency? Absolutely, yes. Iâm rating this 5 stars because it will do what it says it will do and should last through several emergencies. This is going to be a gift for a special, young lady who is looking to get her first car in the coming months. I will be showing her how to use everything and buying a better flashlight.

Useful and alot for the price
This is a useful kit but having to use so many batteries in the flares and having to check to make sure they don’t lose battery power before you need them is not great. Emergency kits are only useful if they work when you need them and I probalby won’t remember to check the batteries.
