After years of owning various $30 flat irons from Target, the last one of which burned my hair quite badly on a surprisingly low setting (even my stylist was scratching her head), I decided it was time to invest in a decent one. I couldnât quite bring myself to splurge on the GHD, so I went with this one.I have long, thick, typical Asian hair, and if blow-dried alone or left to dry naturally, it looks pretty hideous, and blowouts take a lot of time and energy. So I bought the 2â flat iron for days I donât need to meet the public but also donât want to look like depression personified. It heats up quickly to the 365° so-called âideal temperatureâ and I can do my entire head in 5-10 minutes. No issues with accessing or accidentally triggering the controls, and no hair-pulling. I didnât think the heating elements affected the temperature of the handle, but then again, Iâm also not using the highest settings.My only quibble: The 8â cord came in handy while styling in front of a hotel mirror while my husband was in the bathroom, but for everyday use and storage, itâs a bit excessive.
