Super easy to use. High quality. I had previously bought the Thyme iron and returned it because it was just too cumbersome and you had to curl such tiny pieces of hair at a time that it took too long for the desired result. This iron takes 10 minutes and done. I love it.

Brand doesn’t hold up any longer
Our last Stylewinder lasted 7 years of constant use in the salon. This one did not make it to 2 years. So Disappointing! Just died in the middle of the day. When we contacted the manufacturer, they said it was too bad– the warranty only covers it for 1 year. When you spend $135 on a professional iron and recommend it to clients on a regular basis, you expect more from a product and its manufacturer. Our replacement iron will be a different brand!

Clamp spring broke within 3 weeks
This iron was a little tricky to use because of the twisting feature of the barrel but once I got the hang of it I really liked it and felt it was a good curling iron. Three weeks in the spring that keeps the clamp tight snapped resulting in the clamp not being able to grip my hair. Overall a good iron just cheaply made and a little overpriced.

This thing gets HOT
There is a learning curve, but once you figure it out, it’s pretty simple to use. Beware: it gets HOT very quickly. It comes with a little stand so make sure you use it or you’ll burn your counter like I did! I have medium length, thick hair, which usually holds curls for like an hour. I put a little hairspray and my curls will hold fairly well, even for a few days! They’re limp by the end of the day/next day, but just a quick touch up and they’re good as new.
