    Great books for beginners
My step daughter is having trouble reading but we recently found books she enjoy which were the Biscuit books, unfortunately the “My first reading” books can be a little too advanced for her so these Phonics books are perfect! They are small books so I added a picture to compare them in size to the regular books.

    Great set!
These books are much smaller than your usual Biscuit books. They consist of short stories that focus on a different phonetical sound. Hopefully these will help reinforce the letter sounds that my son is learning at speech therapy!

I like to challenge my son and push him to do/learn …
Bought the 1st set of Biscuit books at Barnes and Noble about a while ago and paid more then I thought necessary for those sized books. So I began to look on Amazon and found a greater variety of books at competitive prices. My son is 4 and had mastered the 1st set of Biscuit books(short vowels) rather quickly so I got the Biscuit MORE books(long vowels).I was hesitant because the reviews I was reading said they were much harder then the 1st set and a waist of money. However, I like to challenge my son and push him to do/learn more. I figured if he wasn’t ready for them just yet he would be soon and there would be no money lost. The books are harder in a since of the rules of long and short vowel sounds are different. But in just 2 weeks my son is starting to pick up on the clues of what makes is long or short and he knows how to say them.Every night before bed I have him read 1 Biscuit and 1 Biscuit MORE book so he can keep practicing both long and short at the same time. He is picking up on it more and more as we go and I will continue this process until he has mastered them all.

This is a must buy … GREAT BOOKS FOR EARLY READING
GREAT, GREAT, GREAT book to start your preschooler to start off reading. My granddaughters loved these and helped kick start their reading. One of granddaughter’s is in kindergarten now and loves to get these books out and read to me. Not only did they help her with sight words and phonics, but also hugely boosted her self confidence!! After all … she is the best reader in her class, so she tells me :)+

    Cute stories for beginning readers
When my sons first learned to read, these were excellent books for them to practice reading. The stories are short and the pictures adorable. It can be challenging to find books that don’t have lots of words that break every phonics rule. These books are great. My younger child who is the stronger reader can easily breeze through them, but he still enjoys them. They can still be a bit of a challenge for his brother. I highly recommend!

Great! Wish the set was complete though.
While I and my kiddo love these Biscuit books, my set is missing book 9, “Biscuit and the Firefly” and has two copies of book 11.That aside, these are great for beginning readers who are learning/know early sight words and already have a foundation in short vowel sounds. This set focuses more on long vowels, which is a more complex skill to grasp than short vowel sounds.

Our beginner reader really embraced these books, and it helped with his reading. I made word cards to help his learning

I got these several years ago for my class along with some other comic I can read books. The children found them really exciting and they got some of the more reluctant readers excited about reading. They were nice that they also linked up with the phonics I was teaching in class.

The set of books is well designed for a child to pick up phonics and start reading on her own.Its a little high priced but given the outcome of the books, the investment is almost negligible
