This book is GEORGEOUS!
I bought this book to be a table topper or a shelf standee on my bookshelf. The content is easy enough for most people (including young children) to understand, and the content related to the people highlighted in this book is straightforward and presents them in an easy-to-understand format. The illustrations in the book are absolutely sublime. (Holy Cow!!)What I like most, however, is that it always provides good sources and further information on each of the heroes presented in the text. This would make it an excellent starting point for kids that are looking for heroes to write about in their classes. This is a book I wish that I had as a kid, or even throughout high school a few times when I had to select influential people to write essays on. This would have been a good starting point over a list of names; as it allows you to find a person with whom your interests align. There are plenty of artists, writers, entertainers, and various STEM engineers alike.

My Little Cousins!
I’m turning into my mom. This is what every Black American with children in the home should have besides other books, a gem maker, and a National Geographic telescope for our younger generation. Something educational and electronic. I bought this book for my twin cousins, future doctor and scientist, for Black History Month. This book is amazing! I visited and read a couple. My auntie won’t stop talking about how they love learning about, as they say “brown girls and boys just like them” — doing amazing things. Great purchase. Helps with their reading too. Biographies are thorough. Thank you.

Buy many copies of this book
The author did a masterful job with this book! It’s written in clear, concise, easily understood language. Although it was purchased for my 10 year old grandson, I read it and did not want to put it down. I learned so much and enjoyed doing so. It was wonderful that the heroes were from around the world and their histories spanned from ancient times to the present. Since I purchased this book for my grandson, I am going to give it to him but before it leaves my hands, I’m going to make sure that I order at least one more copy to keep for myself and perhaps several more copies to give to other children and their parents. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I definitely would.

Love this book. Bought it for my son to teach him more about black history and culture. It is very informative about people you know as well as people you may not. I’ve even learned a bit from reading this great book.

After finishing yesterday Bedtime Stories: 50 amazing Black people who changed the world, I was very interested in reading this one as, although there were several similar names in both, this one had a few more. This book is certainly aimed at older children/teenagers, in the way it addresses the reader. It will definitely make children want to know more about these heroes, make them believe in themselves and think that anything is possible if they put their mind to it.I also like the quotes at the end of each person’s biography. This book should be read by/to all children.

Great content. Pages are nice and thick making it easy for those young hands to manipulate. Arrived in mint perfect condition.

I love the content of this book. The history is kept simple and to a nice length (around two sides of reading) so my children can read about one person and discuss with ease. I adore the layout – it’s is exactly what I was looking for with a large colourful picture taking up a whole page which captures the kids’ interest before they start reading. The book is in chronological order which makes it easy for me to incorporate with the school history curriculum and, again, the pictures help to put each hero in their historical context at first glance. The only downside I would say is that this book deserves a much better quality print. It’s the type of book I’d like to keep on the bookshelf for years but unfortunately, it appears to be printed cheaply. I hate to say this because I really do love this book, i just think it deserves that extra bit of care. Thank you.
