Readings are significantly low. I’m in a physical rehab facility (as opposed to drug rehab for clarification) and not once since receipt on March 22, 2024 (15 days ago) have the readings been anywhere close to what the equipment is at the facility and a doctor’s office. It’s extremely dangerous to rely on equipment that is not accurate, especially when something as critical as monitoring blood pressure.IMPORTANT … Always when purchasing a new BP system, take it with you to your next doctor’s appointment to verify accuracy!!!I would definitely have returned this but I am unable to do so since I’m confined to the facility except for physician appointments … instead, I’m eating the $17+ !

Good little home machine!
This is a good little monitor for home use. It comes with a travel case, the blood pressure device, a cuff that should fit most arms, an instruction book and batteries. One thing I really like is that it will store the information for 2 people. AND, it will give you an average blood pressure for your stored readings. Don’t want to use the memory? It’s simple to clear — just hold down the memory button for 4 seconds and then (while you’re still holding down the memory button) press the settings button. You’ll see a message EE for erased. Some people don’t like to store their readings… the first one usually isn’t accurate for me because I take it before I’m fully relaxed and sitting for an accurate reading. Some people take an average of 3 readings to get a good idea of where they stand. On a side note, I keep a note card of my blood pressure readings for the doctor. It’s easier for her to scan a little written doc that to scroll through a list of readings on the machine.You probably need this even if you think you don’t have high blood pressure. Turns out the doctor’s office or the drug store isn’t a good place to take your blood pressure. Both settings make people too nervous to get an accurate reading. Some people (like me) also have a “white coat” syndrome that really kicks in at the doctor’s office. The result? Artificially high blood pressure.It’s easy to setup and use with a well-written instruction booklet. The display will be green if your blood pressure is normal, yellow if it’s slightly high, and red if you have high (level 2) blood pressure. So… you can take your blood pressure without your glasses!

A near lifesaver for us!
Now I don’t recommend using this as any sort of replacement for medical advice because it’s important to keep up with your preventative healthcare. With that said, I have an established doctor who has been monitoring my blood pressure and my lupus flares. Over a weekend I started to feel unwell, I had a headache that came on very suddenly and was an awful headache, one that made me stop immediately and take notice. I also felt very poorly- I remembered my dr wanted me to check my blood pressure if I felt unwell. This little device showed my blood pressure had spiked dangerously high. Coupled with the headache and other symptoms I went to the hospital. It was discovered to be a blood clot- something that could have been fatal had we not responded so quickly. My hospital staff was very impressed that I knew that such high blood pressure for me meant something probably wrong and I responded. Understanding your body is important and helps to recognize when something is off, if I didn’t have a blood pressure cuff at home I’d have waited to see.. losing important time to get to the hospital. This is one time I think a little device helped save a life.
