Beware if you have a thick beard.
If you have a thick beard, beware. The trimmer often gets caught on the beard, pulling hair instead of cutting it. It’s pretty painful. The trim is not short, either. You have to get an attachment to work the way you want it to. I hate to say it, but my $20 battery-powered Gillette outshines this trimmer in almost every way. It’s not worth the money or the hype.

The only change from a v1 that I can see is that it has a subjectively better display (which definitely did not need to be upgraded) and the attachments which are scratching the skin because of rough plastic edges.The display was fine and had a large font, very easy to read even from the mirror reflection. Now it is a fancy looking colored display with a small font.The battery in my v1 died completely after 2 years of once-a-week use. I it won’t happen to this newer revisionUPDATE:Battery died after 5 months. I observed 50% dropping to 0% in a matter of seconds while it was disabled. Charged it only once and used once a week
