Brooks Beast 23s, my go-to work shoe.
I work in these shoes 5 days a week, I put in on average 10,000 steps a day and I’m on the larger side for a man, which leads to me wearing out shoes quicker than most. Ive had them for about 4 months and they’re beginning to be pretty worn but thats after rougly 450 miles of walking and lots of standing time from a 265lb man.For running they’re apparently a bit weighty of a shoe and better for heavier runners, but that also lends to them lasting longer and being more stable where shoes like Hokas or Asics can be a lot squishier and tend to wear out quicker. These are firm for a running shoe but still very well cushioned and comfortable…I have fussy feet from a Football injury, years of kicking in martial arts (broken toes etc), being a size US 13 with a foot that’s between a normal width and slightly wide. Brooks Beasts are comfortable and very popular for hospital workers on their feet for extended shifts.The appearance is pretty basic, but Brooks Beast 23 I’d highly recommend for walking shoes, for heavier runners and for work if it requires being on your feet for long durations. It also has a medium to slightly wider foot friendly feel, Brooks tend to fit similar to Nes Balance for me.

Frankly, I love just about anything that Brooks makes. I have the Glycerin GTS, Ghost 15, and now these. These are the ones I wear if I am going to be walking uneven terrain. They are not as cushy as the Ghost and Glycerin, but the support is top notch. The Glycerin are the cushiest, followed by the Ghost, and then Beast. If you are most concerned about support, go with these. If not concerned so much by support and you prioritize comfort over support, but still want some support, go with the Glycerin GTS. If you just want cushion, go with Ghost or regular Glycerin, not the Glycerin GTS. I get compliments every time I wear a pair of Brooks.NOTE: I have wide feet and take a wide or extra wide. Brooks makes great shoes for those with wide feet. More importantly is the volume and height of my feet. The tops of my feet are higher than normal and this makes for a real challenge because shoes are always too tight on the top and I also run out of laces. Brooks does a good job with this and they also have plenty of room in the toe box. The laces on the Ghost were too short for me. I replaced the laces on my Glycerins with elastic laces and used those on the Ghost.I strayed off topic some, but you really can’t go wrong with Brooks, in my opinion.

My doctor recommended these shoes. I’m glad that he did. These are excellent shoes. I weigh two hundred and eighty pounds and walk 5-10 miles per day. I really like these shoes and they are very comfortable.

SIZED A BIT SMALL BUT I LOVE THEM …
Brooks has always been my go-to running / walking shoe anyway, but I recently bought a different model that I regretted buying. THIS SHOE IS SOLID! AND it comes in wide and extra wide. IT IS SIZED SMALL, so order a size or two up, and the wide / extra-wide is true!

GREAT pair of shoes!
I don’t know about you, but I hate buying shoes online, only to get them and find out they don’t fit. I have edema in my feet at times, and most shoes do not fit me. I purchased these shoes on try before you buy and was pleasantly surprised at the stretchability of the upper material, excellent support and overall comfort of these shoes. I had worn brooks beasts when I was a young man, and always loved them. These are perfect for me in my latter years. They are pricier than some but well worth the price, an excellent value !

Iâm an over-pronator with wide feet. I replaced the insert for better support due to low arch and this has become the best 5+ mile, daily walking shoe. Only one better is the 2024 version!
