I was an active person but after my knee replacement I have found it difficult to do many types of home exercise because it is still difficult for me to get down onto the floor and even more difficult to get up off the floor. This wonderful bundle is helping me restart my exercise routines and get back into shape so that I can take full advantage of my new knee.I originally purchased this book for the chair yoga and was surprised to find that it also includes comprehensive sections with easy to do and simple exercises for: chair yoga, strength training, stretching, balance exercises, walking exercises, medicine ball workouts, resistance band routines, working with dumbbells, and wall Pilates. If you want to continue to build strength and flexibility after the prescribed physical therapy this is an excellent resource.I haven’t had the book long enough to try out all of the sections but I found the chair yoga section thorough in the introductory sections on how and why to get started and the basics of yoga like breathing. The exercises are easily understood and illustrated. It covers everything you need to get started even if you haven’t done yoga before.There are also some bonus sections for conditions such as arthritis and diabetes plus tips on diet, how to set up routines and exercise schedules already worked out for you.I know that this book is going to be very helpful in reaching my goals to be strong and active again. If you have done any of the types of exercises in the past, this book will help you rebuild to your former ability. If you have not done very much exercise then this book will help motivate and guide you to get started and start seeing results. Definitely a win – win and an essential resource for seniors or people recovering from major surgery.

I’ve read a lot of books on Senior Fitness, and this one is really great! How can you not buy a book that offers you Chair Yoga, Wall Pilates, Strength Training, Balance Training, etc? It’s great!The tone is personable and you can tell that the author really cares about Senior Fitness and all that it encompasses.The ONLY thing I think could have been done differently is to have done the book in large format and so that the illustrations are easier to see and follow. That said, the illustrations are pretty cute and more engaging than others I’ve seen.I definitely recommend this book!

I just turned 54 and have been looking to revamp my workouts a bit and incorporate more flexibility into my routine; but I wasn’t sure what to go with, Chair Yoga or Pilates or Stretching but then I found this book! Really nice illustrations and step-by-step explanations on how to perform the exercises correctly; everything simple and clear. There are weekly work programs to follow within it which I found very useful. Aside from exercises, there is also a lot of other information about general well-being for people of a certain age. I really appreciated the free book relating to cooking recipes designed specifically for the elderly; truly a unique and complete book.
