Don’t waste your money!
I purchased the Kindle version of this book, thinking it might be a good resource when working with kids. What a disappointment! First of all, there are no games, activities, and puzzles, as promised in the title. The exercises are all the kind of thing you’d find in a really boring textbook. And a lot of them don’t make sense, like one exercise that asks you to assign a long string to a variable and then print if the number is odd or even. What? Did you mean the length of the string? I’m not even sure the authors know. This book appears to have been cobbled together with clips from a number of websites by a team of non-English speakers. It is really bad and the descriptions of some of the more complex topics, like classes, are some of the worst I’ve ever read.I can’t believe Amazon is selling this garbage but, even worse, it’s coming up in their promoted listings. I really wish I could get a refund!

Step-By-Step
The exercises in this book are simple and explained–that’s the good part, and it’s why this review is a four and not a three. However, there is little here to capture the attention of a child, and I suspect only those with the highest levels of motivation will be successful. Now, this would be great for an adult learning the basics to teach to a child, but even then, the activities don’t seem highly relevant to a child’s interest, so translating to other projects would be needed. The formatting is a bit difficult to read at times (there are large sections with yellow highlighting). Ultimately, don’t hand this to a kid and expect them to learn–unless your kid has a driving passion for C#. Learn it yourself, then find some cool projects to do together.

Good read
A good read book to learn the basics of coding. The writing style is simple. Some areas need more explanation though. Overall, a good book to cover coding basics for kids. Parents might need to help their kids while reading.

Very simple
This book is great for teaching kids some coding basics. The content is very simple and easy to understand. If your kid can read, they can do this.
