Nice Little Compass, Works Well
The one I got works well provided it isn’t near iron or steel, or magnets of course. It’s on the small side, but easy to read and seems pretty reliable. The glowing dial directions and integrated carabiner are a practical and nice touch. It’s good for a quick reference for orientation, but not ideal for accurate land navigation. Having a nicer compass and this both are a good option to cover the basics. Thanks.

Good unit. Small.
Smaller than expected. Just needed something clip on my backpack and not get turned around for a few hours of hiking. Good price point.

People saying this compass isn’t accurate likely lack proper knowledge in land navigation. Like any other magnet, or magnetized metal, when suspended and allowed to float freely, this compass points to Magnetic North. Magnetic North is slightly off from True North and Grid North. I can only assume that most people are wondering why their compass doesn’t point directly North as it is shown on a typical map. This compass is simple, and has one purpose..To give direction. If you’re doing some hardcore Boy Scouting or are in the military, this compass won’t give you all the highspeed extras you get from a lensatic compass, or any other kind of fancy “look at me” type of compass. For regular everyday uses, this will work just fine.Pairing this compass with some basic navigation skills will get you close enough to anywhere you may want or need to go on this planet. As far as durability, I’m confident that this compass will last if not intentionally abused.Like most “cheap” compasses, the glow in the dark stuff will probably fade with time, but in the vast majority of situations you may be in, you will not be navigating at night. If for some reason you are navigating at night, it is unlikely that you will be in pitch black, so you should be able to see any compass well enough to continue movement. If you do happen to plan on navigating at night, then go with one of the compasses with tritium. As a minimalist, this compass is more than I care to have to pack around. My main excuse for spending money on it is quick, simple navigation during heavy snow, rain, dust, smoke, or any other situation where I may not be able to determine direction. All you need in such a situation is to simply get quick views of the compass by viewing it under your shirt, jacket, or any place else that will block whatever is obscuring your view.

Easy to use and very convenient
I bought this because I have a volunteer job that requires me to keep track of my directions for legal documentation, and honestly Iâm not great at keeping track of my directions! I keep it on my belt loop and itâs helped me feel much more confident that Iâm able to provide accurate details for our legal clients.

Carabiner Part Lasted 23 seconds.
I went to install this on plastic clip on back pack, and carabiner fell apart. Spring and metal pin are now laying on the table, and the carabiner portion is not functional.

Works slower like a traditional compass. Really cute and comes in handy!

The hinge moves smoothly, no issue. The compass points North correctly, and more importantly, repeatedly. Therefore, reliable safe indicator of North
