Very good for three and light
Only thing that I don’t like that the gate on both side open to out or in the wrong side and is not enough to cover the gate

Fairly lightwight, packable, waterproof, good quality.
•Overall Impression:-Note that there are several size variations for how many people you want to fit in the tent and the tent capacity.-I’m reviewing the one I have the single, one person tent, so it’s going to be heavier and larger if you get a tent that holds more people and has a higher person capacity.-For a single, one person, tent that’s packable and a pop up style, it’s fairly lightweight in the one person size at 4 pounds 12 oz packed weight. It does feel about like 5 pounds when you pick it up. Note that the multi-person tents will be heavier, so check the listing and pics for the weights for those larger tents.-It’s excellent quality, as you’d expect from Coleman, and is packable, pop up style and waterproof.• Pros-what I liked and what worked well:-Several size variations available from single person (the one I have) to multiple people capacity.-Good value for the quality, style and size.-Good material that’s sturdy and should hold up well.-Waterproof material and taped seams and tub like floor to keep water and moisture out.The single (one person) style is almost five pounds in weight (note the larger multi-person tents will be heavier).-Comes in a carrying bag that’s easy to carry or attach to a backpack or pack.-Pop up style.-Aluminum tent posts. Tent posts and tie downs included.-Rated for wind up to 45 mph (when properly set up).-Mesh zip open and close inner window for air flow and a view.-Bright yellow color makes it visible and easy to see. Has a gray top and accent color.-Reflective tape accents to make it visible at night.-Small single person size (the measurements will vary on each tent capacity) for the one person tent at 87″ long by 36″ wide by 38″ tall. It’s a tent you won’t be able to stand up in easily but can sit up in and crawl in and out of of.-Zip up door closure.-Has no unpleasant scent to it.• Cons-what I didn’t like and what didn’t work well:-No issues.• Tips & Thoughts:-The tents are larger and heavier by the person capacity. So check the size measurements and weight for the capacity you are looking for.-The single, one person capacity tent weighs packed about 5 pounds. So keep that weight in mind when packing or planning your travel or backpack load weight.

    Great 1 Person Tent
This is a great 1 person tent. For backpacking or biking. I bike to campgrounds and stay over. This tent is smaller and lighter than the one I had been taking. This will be perfect. Enough room without being heavy and huge.Setup: I set this up in my living room. It comes with a footprint which is great. Another nice touch is that there is one corner that is red on the tent, footprint, and rainfly. They all match up so you get the orientation correct. The instructions are attached to the tent storage bag which is nice. The only issue I had was the ridge pole. It’s not obvious where it goes and how it goes. Turns out it goes OVER the main tent poles and into two grommets. I had to look at pictures on the Coleman site to figure this out. The  rainfly needs to be staked out to work so my pics are a bit weird since I didn’t stake it.Tent: I’m 6 foot 2 inches and there was plenty of room for me and some gear. The Star Window / Vent is nice. It’s on the end where your feet go, but you can still see out. The tent is really well made and the quality shows. On second thought, It seems like you can sleep with your feet on either end. Just pick an end.Take down: It folded up really nicely. I was able to fold it to the width of the pole bag and then roll it up. It fit back in the back no issue. You then roll down the top of the bag and click the buckles together to keep it closed. With a little practice setup and takedown will be very fast.Overall this is a high quality tent that is durable and light. It is fun and will upgrade my adventures!Notes:- Ridge Pole Goes OVER the main tent poles- Red Corners of Footprint, Tent, and Rainfly all line up. (Great Idea!)- Instructions are attached to the bag but are not perfect.- Under 5lbs- Star View Window / Vent- Free standing but needs to be staked out

The Coleman PEAK1 4 person tent is adequately sized, but like any 4 person tent doesn’t have tons of room. Its adequate for a couple of adults, a couple of kids and some camping gear. But there is sleeping space for 4 sleeping bags, so there is that.It has been super cold and wet here lately so we couldn’t set up or test out this tent until today. Today we took some time to get it set up and ensure everything was good with the tent. Its still too cold to tent over night for us.The tent came with a ground tarp which is great to protect your tent from being laid directly onto the ground. This tent has the instructions sewn into the carry/storage bag in several different languages, so you can ensure your instructions do not get lost and that you can easily see visually how to set the tent up and take it down.I really like that the parts are color coded, so you can see which poles go with which parts of the tent. The tent poles also clip into place instead of having to slide completely through pole sleeves on the tent, this is convenient and definitely cuts time down on tent set up and makes it much easier to do.This tent can be used screened without the cover, but the cover is great to ensure privacy or cover from rain or weather. I like that it has vents with little poles to hold them open as well as window and door that can be rolled up to ensure good air flow while still keeping the flies out.I was pleased that all of the parts including the tent could easily be put back into the carry bag for storage.Over all this is a good quality tent and we will all be going camping this summer as a family with a few tents, so this one will get some use.Great features, and very easy to set up.

I have to be honest, it has been years and years since I’ve been camping. We have to go all the way back to my scouting days to find that last time. Yea, that long ago lol. So I figured I’d give camping a try again in my older age.I ordered this 6 person PEAK1 dome tent by Coleman because hey, it’s Coleman! I was looking for a quality product that would be easy setup, have lots of room, and easy to pack away. There’s only three sets of poles, two criss cross and the third holds wide open the doorway opening. The poles are colour coded to match the corresponding clips that attach to them. Don’t forget the little velcro attachments, there’s not many. The stakes are adequate but personally I do wish they were longer. The setup is easy. First lay out the ground tarp, you will find in one corner the tab is red and is labeled which side goes up. This is to make it easy for when laying out your tent to have everything matching. Just have the tents red corner tab positioned at the ground tarps red corner tab. Attach the poles to erect and stake down. Then pull the waterproof fly overtop lining up the corners and use the clips to attach. From here finish staking down all the tie-downs and you’re all set. There’s plenty of room inside. I wouldn’t so much call it a six person tent as I would call it a four person + your gear tent, I like having room to move. Laying down inside in either direction I had space between me and the tent walls, and I stand six feet tall.As for gear, one thing I am a little sad Coleman has overlooked is some sort of loop in the middle to hang a battery powered lantern. There is a small triangular mesh holder which gets attached in the ceiling, but no loop.As it isn’t quite camping season, I haven’t yet spent a night in it. But after I set it up at home I’ve left it set up for a number of days. It’s been sunny, windy and rainy. Actually it’s been a few days of rain here, some very heavy, which has been a great test for the waterproofness. I am happy to report I have found no water inside whatsoever. That is awesome considering the amount of rain it just endured.I can’t wait to go try this tent out now. Come on summer, you can’t get here fast enough! 5/5 stars.

Things I didn’t like:The instructions on the bag refer to a steak shaped like a 7 that isn’t included. I searched for 5 minutes and didn’t find any. The steaks that are included do not fit through the grommets, which is good because the grommets need to have the poles in them.Getting in to the tent with the rain cover on means pretty much dropping to the ground and crawling in. There was definitely a time in my life where that wouldn’t have been an issue. At this age, there’s no way I’m going to be doing that.I set this tent up on a very windy day, and empty it blew away with all 8 spikes in, so that’s something to consider. The good:For the kids, it’s very roomy. Definitely big enough for 3 of them in a back yard sleepover. The material is very durable and the poles bent easily enough. The poles were also sturdy and easy to pack back up and store. The ground tarp is the same size as the tent base which is going to help prevent water pooling underneath when it rains. The plastic clips to attach the top tarp made it even faster and easier to assemble. The tent certainly isn’t feather light, but it’s light enough to throw over your shoulder or on your back without it exhausting you.The price is pretty high though. I think there are probably better options in this price range.

We’ve had the Coleman Peak1 4 person tent for about 6 weeks. We took it camping a couple of times and have it now set up in our backyard for the kids to enjoy.Generally, tents are sized for maximum number of people that can squeeze in, so if you need a tent for 4 adults plus gear, you should be looking at the 6 person versions. That said this 4 person tent is very spacious. 4 people should fit easily without the usual jigsaw puzzle sleeping arrangement. For 2 adults and 2 children this tent is huge.We upgraded from a 4 person Eureka 3 season dome tent and thanks to the much increased height and almost vertical walls the Coleman offers significantly more living space. Our current setup includes a queen sized inflatable airbed and a foam sleeping pad on the side. This still leaves plenty of space for our clothes and other tent necessities. The tent inside is mostly mesh. The non mesh fabric only extends about a foot at the front and slopes up on the sides to about the middle of the rear wall. On the back wall the floor fabric is brought up in a triangular shape to create the “Peak” that is a design feature of the this tent line. The large mesh area combined with the roof side vents in the rain fly make the tent feel very airy. The extra ventilation does mean that when there is a cold breeze, it’s colder in the tent than in our Eureka which has non mesh walls, but it should be very beneficial during hot summer nights.Built in storage pockets are somewhat limited. There are 4 triangular mesh pockets in the corners of the tent, but I find that their shape isn’t the most useful. There is also a small, triangular gear loft, but again, it’s a bit small. Definitely feels like this area needs to be improved. The tent has a bathtub style floor, with it’s edges brought up a few inches onto the walls (more so in the rear section). The floor fabric is waterproof, similar in thickness to that of the rain fly. It is thinner than on our older tent, but the Coleman also comes with a thicker ground sheet that provides extra protection. The rear of the tent features a large window – both in the mesh and in the rain fly. The window can be unzipped from both the outside and from the inside of the tent. It’s possible to open that window just partially for ventilation or fully if the temperature allows. The window is called “star view” by Coleman, and while we didn’t happen to enjoy any star gazing we did really like looking at the trees and the evening sky.The window’s mesh inside the tent can be left closed or if there are no bugs, tied up in the open position allowing for unobstructed view. The zippered portion of the rain fly is fully waterproof and we tested it in several rainstorms already. I think the window is a great addition, one of the best features of the tent. The whole front part of the tent is the entry door. You can just walk in. Our previous tent was much lower and I never realized how used we got to that, until I proceeded to unzip just the bottom corner of the mesh door and crawled into the Coleman, halfway through realizing how silly that was. The zippers operate smoothly, although I’d prefer if they were larger. The rain fly drapes over the front of the tent creating a small vestibule. There is enough space for the shoes and some gear, but the vestibule is not large enough to really fit a person. The wall just slopes toosteeply and the top of the vestibule is pretty much even with the top of the inside door. The front door in the rain fly is also full size and can be either rolled up for easy entry or with some extra poles (not included) set up as an awning. Unfortunately on a rainy day this design doesn’t offer a dry area for changing and when the door is opened, some rain is likely going to get into the tent. The zippers on the rain fly door are large and move smoothly. No issues there. The rain fly so far has been doing an excellent job, the tent survived a couple of really big downpours and several windy, rainy nights without any leaks. The fly offers full coverage, going all the way to the ground with the exception of an area on the back of the tent where the Coleman’s “Peak” design element is shown – the fly has a triangular cutout in it that shows the inside wall of the tent, creating a mountain like design. The wall of the tent in that area is made from the same fabric as the floor and is waterproof, but in my opinion this is really a pointless design, that compromises the way the fly stretches over the tent and unnecessarily creates possible issues in the future. Also even thou this wall section is fully waterproof, if you put your mattress or packs right next to it, then chances are that moisture will wick trough eventually. I wish Coleman just carried the “Peak 1” design clues with a print on the rain fly instead of that strange cutout. The set up is not complicated, but of course it depends on the experience level. If this is your first tent then it might be difficult, if you are a seasoned camper you’ll find it quite simple. The instructions are printed on a flap of the tent bag, but aren’t the most detailed.I was able to set up the tent without help in about 30 minutes, but I recommend doing it with another person – much easier, faster, and less of a chance of damaging the tent. With a helper it takes about 15 minutes to have the tent standing + a few more to stake out all the guy lines. The construction is free standing but with the very large wall area this tent will go flying if you set up without staking it all around. Unlike smaller tents that seem to be fine with just the corners / vestibules staked out, this tent requires at least some of the guy lines to be tensioned. Without the guy lines the rain fly was sagging a bit too much on the sides and it was touching the inside mesh fabric. With the four corner guy lines set up, that was no longer an issue.Overall, I think this is a very nice car camping tent suitable for camping between mid spring and mid fall seasons, but not in snowy conditions. It could be taken on a backpacking adventure if the load is divided between a few people, but there are better choices for that style of camping. This “Peak 1” 4 person dome features some outstanding features but also has some poorly designed elements. I would not recommend it at full price, but when on sale it can be a very good value, offering better quality than the cheaper Coleman’s Sundome series.Pros:- spacious, will actually fit 4 adults- tall, almost enough for a 6′ person to stand up- very well ventilated- great “star view” window- full size doors for easy entry- includes a good ground sheet- almost full coverage rainfly- leak proof in a downpourCons:- expensive when not on sale- vestibule too small for the size of the tent- rainfly has the weird cutout for no good reason- guy lines needed for good setup

This is a large tent, meant for 6 but will likely comfortably house 4.I didn’t set it up probably as I was only testing it to make sure all the parts are there and are in working order. The quality of all the parts are very high. They’re sturdy and will last a long time. The zippers work smoothly, and setting up was easier than I thought, although doing it alone would be quite difficult. Tear down was pretty easy too. There were no poles to put up the front flap. In this case, it’s a bit annoying to open two sets of zippers to get inside.Although it’s a great tent, I don’t think it warrants the very high pricetag, so I gave it a 4. It looks very slightly more flimsy than it does on the product pictures.
