Columbia Males’s Trailstorm Waterproof Mountaineering Shoe

Absolutely great shoes, quality and tradition from Columbia.
I ordered these without having seen them first at the store and was happily surprised. Excellent comfort. I find it difficult to compare these shoes to say the like of Sketchers. Not a fare comparison, Columbia is way above in quality and comfort. Especially if you need wide shoes as I do.

Bad shoes
I have only used this shoes when it has rain, for regular walk, only used like it for 4 times in 2 months and it’s starting to break apart, I tried to contact the seller but it is imposible, I tried to contact amazon and its the same. Terrible shoes if only last for 3 to 4 uses.

Snug fit
I bought a normal size 13 and, whilst the length is fine, the width is a little bit snug for a large size. If I had to buy another pair, I would consider the 13 wide size. Having said that, the shoe is comfortable and at least doesn’t move around on my foot.

UPDATED: Fatal flaw
UPDATE: while these shoes are so comfortable, cool, looking, and waterproof (although more on that in a minute), they are just fatally flawed.As a few other reviews have mentioned, the shoes exhibited extreme wear very prematurely at the flex point where the toebox bends when you walk. It became very noticeable within about three weeks of wearing these occasionally and the waterproof aspect went right out the window. The material on top of the toe box is an interesting type of fabric, but it is obviously very susceptible to breaking down when it’s flexed. If they would update this design to put rubber or some other fabric there, these would probably be some of the best shoes money can buy.I used the Prime try before you buy feature and sampled three similar shoes – two Columbia and one Solomon. The Solomon were very lacking in cushioning and were just honestly not very comfy. The other Columbias were fine but kind of clunky looking. These are waterproof (verified), so comfortable, and really good looking. I love them! I wear a 10.5 normally and have a very narrow foot and these fit perfectly.

I ordered the men’s because I could not get the color I wanted in my size. I was nervous because reviews said they fit small. I wears a 9 ladies sometimes 9.5. I ordered an 8 men’s and it fits perfectly. I brought them to Alaska right away. They were comfortable immediately. I am very blister prone and had no issues at all. Not too bulky. Not too heavy. I didn’t test out the full waterproof capabilities but they stood up to light rain no problem. I’m really happy with my purchase.
