Tedious to swap between compass and camera mounts
I like the idea of a monopod a lot because of the convenience to use in crowded areas like an auditorium. Taking pictures with a monopod works much better than without one in dim lit areas. The monopod is also not awkward to setup like a tripod that often gets in the way between rows of chairs. For this function it gets 5 stars. However, that fact that this is marketed for outdoors with a small compass on top makes this a less than ideal tool.To swap between compass and camera/binocular mountings you would have to carry the included L-wrench to loosen a plate that houses and allows for the rotation of a screw that is ¼” on one end and 3/8” on the other. This is just plain silly. Not only is it impractical to carry a wrench just for this, the process of changing can end up dropping the double-headed screw, a washer, or the compass as they fall easily off the pole. I have a hard time doing it on a table trying not to lose any of these pieces and simply can’t imagine doing it on a trail or slopes. There is no other way to swap them so it comes down to keeping the setup I will be primarily using and not use the other one. This problem didn’t need to exist. There’s no reason why the compass cannot use a 3/8” screw such that swapping can be done without doing a field operation. The design really should have been a quick release with a button for swapping. As is, the process is cumbersome, tedious, and just about asking for a lot of work to risk easily losing an important component. This is just hard to comprehend.

    Inferior Flimsy Construction
Telescoping clamps are so flimsy, cheap the legs collapse with very little weight. Not suitable even for a small walking child or a large video camera.
