It gets the job done
This iron was just as described. It’s about the size of my palm. It didn’t take much room in my luggage, and most importantly, it curled my mid-length, frizzy hair and kept it curled all day. With patience and a little time, it does the job nicely. Iâm thrilled I found this.

Perfect size for short fine hair
Love this. I have short, fine, absolutely stick straight hair which is about 5 inches long, with no curl whatsoever – not even a hint of a wave. I put product in it, but it still needs help. The barrel of the curling iron is 2.25 inches. Not very big, but for my hair length it is perfect. And, it’s the perfect size if you are traveling with a carryon and don’t have extra space in your bag.

Close, but not quite
I’ve always liked Conair curling irons so I wanted to try the travel iron. It’s nice and small, for sure, but it needs to be one inch longer or it will take twice as long to capture strands of hair and get them curled! I have medium thick, straight hair. Temp control is simple on/off. It heats up high enough to provide a good curl. It weighs about 5.7 ounces, compared to my straight iron at 8.4 ounces -with another 2.7 ounces and 1.25″ of curling surface- I’d rather have the length to curl my hair faster. If it were one inch longer I would give this travel iron a 5 star rating.

Good and not so …
The small curing iron is great for travel, heats up well, but the opening for hair sections does not open very wide and therefore very little hair can be curled at one time. That makes the process longer, and possibly (?) heats the hair too much.

Terrible design
I’m glad I tried to use this curling iron at home before I took it on a trip. The spring in the clip is not strong enough to hold my hair to curl it. Even worse, there is a tiny space between handle and barrel where several of my hairs got stuck and pulled them out! It has one temperature, of which I was aware, but it is very hot. In my attempt to get my hair unstuck I badly burned 2 fingers. I am returning it and looking for something else lightweight with a better design.

Small travel size
This curling iron is very short which makes it great for travel. Smaller size makes it difficult to use. Would be good to do touch ups. My hair is shoulder length and it didnât do well for a full styling.

Perfect & Can convert to a wand
The ON heat setting is not too hot and perfect for a curl. I have long but thin hair and was still able to wrap the full length at once but did have to do it in small sections. If time is important, I don’t think this product is ideal for thick/full hair. It took me about 10mins to do my whole head but I could see it taking closer to 30 for someone with thick/full hair.
I didn’t find the clamp useful since its such a short barrel so I converted it into a wand by removing the clamp. You just need a small screwdriver to remove the 3 screws in the handle, open the case and unscrew the 2 small screws that hold the clamp to the button to remove it.
The iron works so much better now!

This great product from Conair heated well and curled well. On the left was the amount of product I would have to pack to equal the Conair product on the right (with a few ânestedâ Velcro rollers around it). Basically, I have read reviews that said the product was not good because the barrel was too small. Any stylist will tell you that it is NOT the size of the barrel heating the hair that matters, rather the size of the barrel around the hair shafts WHILE THEY COOL that sets the size of the curl. So I set the curls with this dryer, then wrap the curls to cool in Velcro rollers.
So when I travel, I shove 3 Velcro rollers (green, nested inside orange, nested inside then pink) around the curling barrel, and 2 Velcro rollers (orange, nested inside pink) around the curling base, as its too wide to acccomodate the green size. I curl my hair with the mini Conair, then roll the hot hair in the Velcro roller of the size I need (I wear a graduated bob, that is very long in front so I need the velcros just for the front and sides – the barrel is fine for curling the back).
Itâs a HUGE advantage in the small, carry-on suitcase (I dont EVER check luggage, even for 4 weeks in Italy or 3 weeks in Ireland, so every inch of square space matters in my suitcase).
This hack should work for most styles needing a larger, softer curl.

I bought this for a trip to Europe. It served its purpose. But now I use it everyday. It’s so useful because it takes up so little counter space in my bathroom and the storage drawer. Little did I know at the time that this is all I need for travel AND everyday use!
