Very soft neutral colors.
I love this eye shadow! Some eye products irritate my lids and this does not. The neutral shades are very becoming. There is a bit of shimmer in the shadow which I didn’t think would compliment my aging skin but I like the look!

Used this product for years
I’ve used this eye shadow for years. New packaging now and the eye shadow colors are smaller than they had been.

Pretty Messy
Mainly ordered this for the black shimmer color. It’s definitely pretty, but there’s a lot of cleanup involved.
I’ve only used it maybe 5 times (haven’t used the other colors yet) and you can see from the picture that it gets everywhere easily even though I go in very lightly with the brush.
Speaking of which, there is *a lot* of fallout when applying. Definitely recommend applying this shadow *before* applying face makeup since cleanup will be needed. The black smears when you try to wipe it off your face so a makeup wipe or micellar water cotton pad will be needed to fully clean it off. On the plus side, random fallout during the day actually isn’t too bad and even after 8-10 hours the shadow doesn’t look faded or smeared.
The sticker/seal that holds the case together leaves a sticky residue on the outside when removed before first use. I tried scraping the adhesive off with a makeup wipe but it just got soggy for a bit, then back to sticky 😑
Also would like to point out that the enclosed applicator “wand” doesn’t do the trick and the shadow went on very lightly while using it. However when using my own small angled brush, it went on very smoothly and much more pigmented. Just don’t push your brush too hard into the eyeshadow or the whole thing will likely crumble.
Might order this again despite the issues because the shimmery black is actually pretty and it’s affordable. It just seems a bit messy.

Lovely Color Tone and Easy Application
I would like to state that the color of the shadow does not apply as dark as it appears. The “darkness” is more subtle once it’s actually applied to the skin; I provided a picture that shows this. I don’t like using bold eyeshadows – I just like enough to give definition and contrast to my fair skin. I have been using this specific shadow color for nearly three years and continue to love it. I tried changing one time and was sorely disappointed and immediately returned to the Tapestry Taupe color.
Yeah yeah yeah, Covergirl may not be thee ‘nontoxic make-up’ brand, but I’ve learned that it can sometimes be more toxic to be so overly staunch about the ingredients. Make-up is just not the hill I’m willing to die on. If I like a certain make-up and it applies well, lasts all day, and is reasonably priced, I will continue to buy and use it.

Bought this to replace my favorite eye shadow palette that was discontinued. Looks really bad, not even close to my favorite. Not even wearable. Don’t waste your money.
