Great on icy conditions
Works well, provides really good grip on ice. Sizing guide is spot on for me. My only concern is the loud crunching noise when walking over ice. Lily Aldrin’s chewing noise pales in comparison. Will help keep you safe during winter activities though.

Excellent traction and easy to use
Just spent the day on glare lake ice and couldnât be happier with these crampons. I wear size 13 boots and was skeptical that the large size would fit but had no problem getting them on and appreciated the extra strap to keep them secure. Traction on the ice was fantastic and I didnât notice any soreness on my feet as they stayed solid but also flex with normal stepping motion. Would definitely buy again.

Used for hiking on ice in Rocky Mtn NP. No slipping for me! They go on and off easily. Well worth the price.

Reliable Ice Cleats with Excellent Grip â Slightly Heavy But Effective
I purchased these crampons/ice cleats for hiking, and Iâm pleased with how well they perform. One of the best features is their excellent grip, which significantly reduces the risk of slipping on ice and snow. They definitely get the job done and provide confidence on slippery surfaces. My only minor issue is that they feel a bit heavy, though Iâm not sure if thatâs standard for this type of gear or if itâs just a characteristic of this particular set. While the weight was noticeable, it didnât detract too much from its overall effectiveness.Despite this small drawback, I highly recommend these ice cleats for anyone needing reliable traction for hiking.

Excellent Ice Cleats Crampons
This has been one crazy winter in our home area. I walk every morning for exercise and the ice has been particularly treacherous this season. I finally did some research and decided to purchase these ice cleats. Wow, what a difference they have made. I now can walk as strongly and confidently on the snowy/icy sidewalks and streets almost as well as when they are dry and free of ice and snow. I’ve gone from avoiding every little ice patch to walking on every ice/snow patch I see (partly so I don’t wear down the cleats on dry cement or pavement). I have walk on smooth ice (but be more careful here) as well as particularly rough, gnarly ice and snow surfaces on both the sidewalks and the streets. No slippage–though the smooth ice needs a bit more caution! I cannot believe the difference. I also have no trouble walking on the cleats when I do encounter dry sidewalk or street. The cleats are fairly easy to slip onto my walking shoes (tennis shoes). Since I only use these shoes for walking, I have been leaving the cleats on the shoes instead of removing them from day to day. They fit very well and I have had no issue with the cleats wanting to slip around or fall off my shoes. Velcro straps came with the cleats, but I have no idea what they are for. I left them in the nice packaging that these cleats came in. It is a nice bag to store the cleats when not using them in the off-seasons. These cleats are well worth the investment! I do wish to give a warning: ice is ice and there is always the possibility of slipping and falling on some especially smooth icy surfaces. I trudge along without any thought when the snow and ice is especially lumpy, but I have found it best to walk a little more guardedly when on the really smooth ice. So just a word to the wise! These cleats definitely are a huge help in walking in these conditions, but they do not make us invincible!

They work great really grip. Hold up well so far on rocks and boulders.
See title, only problem is they are an effort to put on and harder to take off. I have an 11 shoe and bought L+ which is their extra large. If in terrain where you need to take them on and off they need some kind of larger pull strap on heel to take off and on. But on the plus side they wonât fall off or slip out of place.Overall they worked great for purpose. More grip than micro spikes or the ones that look like snow tires.

Keeps you from falling
YES, all of these types of “icers” keep you from falling on OUR icy conditions. Southeast Alaska has the most variable ice and snow conditions from late September until today at least, April 16th. (sometimes August) We keep a pair in our cars and trucks. I keep a pair attached to my backpack. We have used them on our mountains and trails here and I actually have photos of my wife and another friend behind her sliding down one of our snow covered mountains IN AUGUST, wearing these of course. We all wore these that day!!! (The previous years snow, I slid down first to show them it was safe)These red versions do not want to stretch as far as the black rubber version, this same brand. The red compound is a little tighter. No problem, I have the XX version for my biggest winter hiking boots. These exact versions are the ones I buy. (the black ones too) Amazon sells other name brands and the ones that several of us avoid have more cleats/teeth on the bottom. When you are looking at the different brands on Amazon CLOSELY, you will see a brand that has more spikes/teeth/cleats on the bottom, maybe 24 teeth. Look for the ones that have 2-teeth close to each other in several spots and avoid them. I sharpen special friends icer teeth when they get dull and there isn’t enough room for my sharpening tools to get in between those darn “close together teeth”. If you order the wrong ones you will understand as soon as you hold them in your hand. It shows on the pictures here on Amazon if you look closely.THESE have enough space between all of the teeth for sharpening. I’m 75, I brake easy, I don’t want to fall, I heal slowly now. THE ONES IN THIS PICTURE ABOVE KEEP ME UPRIGHT!On another note. There is the expensive brand that cost 2 or 3 times more than these, there is a reason for that. They both do the same thing but THOSE have thicker SS wires and folded chains and hooks and fasteners on the bottom that keep all the teeth/cleats in place. THESE in this picture above use slightly thinner metal parts and several of these teeth actually broke off of one of mine. These have broken on me in several areas. When I get home I take the small bent or broken part from these and I pull out my stash of worn out and broken OTHER icers and I cannibalize them and repair these using THOSE stronger parts. So technically they will never brake in that spot ever again.I also carry a spare worn out ice cleat in my backpack just encase one of these brake. (I never throw the old icers away) When you live in Alaska for over 40 years and you love the winters in this pristine clean air wonderland then you must use good equipment to stay safe. One more thing, one of my hiking buddies simply buys a new pair of THESE each year. That is how he stops his icers from braking. AND, these are MUCH cheaper than an ambulance or a helicopter flight to the hospital. (where we go it would be a helicopter)Yes I would recommend these to a friend, (a friend recommended these TO ME!)

In no way do these spikes replace a 10/12 point crampon, but they do serve a purpose and they do it very well. I recently hiked the Tarmachan Ridge in full winter condition. Powdery snow with wind scarred ice sections. These spikes gave confidence under foot, very easy to put on and are a must to keep in your pack when it’s possible you might encounter slippy conditions. Sometimes the conditions don’t merrit a full crampon, this is where these spikes come into their own. Well made and great for the price.
