Large but not long barrel
It feels heavy and well made. It has four heat settings, comes with a glove and two hair clips. There two things that would make this a 5 star curling iron. 1. The tip of the barrel (cool-touch tip) needs to be tapered. My hair would catch on it and slip out of the clamp. 2. The clamp doesnât hold hair very well, even when my hair didnât catch on the cool-touch tip, it would slip out.I would recommend this for long hair. My hair below my shoulders and I would recommend it for hair at least two inches longer than that.

Large barrel
This is the largest barrel hair iron I have ever owned. It is definitely for a long hair. Looks like it is very well made and feels solid in your hand. It is average heat up time. One thing I noticed is that it does let the hair slip through. It is not too bad, but the clip is definitely not very tight. It is not a deal breaker, but an observation if it is important to you. I still do not know why there is a grove in the middle of the barrel.
