Cute and useful
These are cute and useful. They are not super sturdy, so I don’t know how they’re going to hold up in class. They are all three-piece CVC word puzzles, with a clear picture of the word. I like how easy they are to use, and how they build fine motor skills along with CVC word skills.You get 20 puzzles, but I’d take out the X puzzles – that makes two sounds, so I don’t use it with CVC, but that’s a personal choice.The pieces are nowhere near as large as it shows in the listing, so I’m including a photo.The colors are bright.I’m using them in a Kindergarten center, and I think they’re great. I can do a lot of things with them. It would be cool if there were ideas included, but it’s fine. They come with a carrying bag, but I think it’s better to have a plastic case for them.

These puzzles are great for the children. They are good quality and durable for the price. The only wish was that they were a tad bit bigger for the little ones to handle.

Good, basic way to work on CVC words
I work as a speech-language pathologist and think this set provides a great way for caregivers, SLPs, and other educators (ex: kindergarten teachers) to work on basic decoding of CVC words with kids. The cards are cute and brightly colored, with a good selection of CVC nouns. If being nitpicky, my only issue would be the inclusion of the letter X since that technically makes two sounds (/k/ + /s/) at the end of words. Therefore it requires kids to blend 4 sounds (CVCC) in order to read it, whereas the other words only require blending 3 sounds (CVC). I can think of a lot of ways to use this, and ways to adjust the difficulty level– such as leaving out one letter and having kids say what it is before they look for the piece with that letter. Great for early reading and spelling practice, with the puzzle element making this more into a game!

Get the Job Done
My mom teaches a wide range of students from ages 2 to 12, so I decided to get her a few things to help out at the school and this was one of them. Overall, I haven’t seen her have any issues with the CVC puzzles – they’re useful for the kids to learn, especially those with special needs. They handled being thrown around just fine, and overall they just get the job done, plain and simple.

Sturdy pieces
Very easy to assemble. My 5 year old son who doesn’t enjoy puzzles easily put the words together. He learned quickly to fix the picture to spell the word and complete the puzzle. Comes with a storage bag. Wish there was more but this is a great starter piece or addition to learning. Would recommend.

Nice Activity for Alz
I got these puzzles to work with my mom who has Alz.She enjoys puzzles, but even a 12 piece is a bit much for her.These have the additional challenge of making 3-letter words, which helps mom to figure out the pieces a bit easier.Some of the drawings are too simple for her to understand, but there are so many included that I simply remove the problem sets.Everything came pre-assembled and ready to break the pieces apart, with a bag to mix them up in.
