VERY EDUCATIONAL! EYE OPENER!
Reading this book is so interesting as I am A+ blood and my mom & boyfriend are O blood types & I have witnessed how much better they metabolize meat.I was vegan for a year at a point and thrived and boyfriend tried and his body totally was shutting down getting sick and weak. Also helped me understand what illnesses each blood type is more prone to, exercises recommended, food groups that are beneficial and negative, and helped me understand why I tend to be more in fight or flight mode.

The diet that makes sense–based on your blood type
I have been a health & wellness enthusiast all my life. I was a vegetarian runner and weightlifter from the age of 19 to 42. Then my health plummeted and I grieved what my body used to be and thought would never be again. Long story short, I was “diagnosed” with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which is a farce. When doctors run every test on you that is associated with fatigue and they all come back “normal”, they literally tell you that you have CFS because they can’t pinpoint what is causing it. I now know it’s my BLOOD and the vegetarian diet I was feeding it was not what a Type O needs. We are the Original (“O” for original) blood type of the first man, who was a hunter and gatherer to survive. We need MEAT, preferably RED meat and a few other options. We also need intense physical activity, but I was unable to contine my exercise routine due to my fatigue. I felt like I was reading my own health journal when Dr. D’Adamo writes “Type O’s who do not express their physical natures with appropriate activity in response to stress are eventually overwhelmed during the exhaustion stage of stress response … this can lead to depression, fatigue or insomnia … and if there is no change, you will leave yourself vulnerable to a number of inflammatory and autoimmune disorders”!!! That was ME. I’ve been on antidepressants and sleep meds for 20 years. Then I had two bouts of COVID-19 and felt like death for months. When I read this book about all four blood types–O, A, B, & AB, I realized my diet of chicken, all fish & seafood, all vegetables & fruits was not right for my blood. When I made the changes for Type O, I immediately felt a difference. There were rare times during my fatigue phase where I would eat a juicy steakhouse hamburger and feel like a million bucks the next day. I told several doctors this, and they were baffled since red meat has been criticized for its cholesterol for many years. Dr. D’Adamo is an alternative health doctor and looks to food as medicine instead of Big Pharma drugs. The book is fascinating, explaining how each blood type originated due to migration issues and adopting which foods were available in that particular region of the world. It makes sense! And each blood type had its own “fingerprint” and explains why it has particular needs and foods that will cause problems. I highly recommend this book! (I’ve also purchased The Type O Cookbook, which makes it even easier to follow.)

Your health goals are up to YOU, not this author, his critics/fans, or anyone else. Educate yourself and make it happen
I’ve been reading through a lot of the reviews on this book. Look folks, things are all what you make of them. To the critics, I’m happy for you that you are fit and in shape and have had no bad reactions to food. To those of you who are doctors and are bashing this book, I’m sure you have better advice you’ve spent time giving your patients and that they’ve had excellent results. On the flip side of those points, to those of you who have had great success following this plan, good for you. Many people struggle with weight issues and unhealthy eating habits. If this book results in a few people avoiding the “food” being sold at the drive thru, what harm? Honestly, some people need to lighten up and relax. There is no cure-all, but why some people are so offended and outraged over a book that is obviously helping people make better choices(regardless of the science or lack-there-of behind it) is beyond me. This book was recommended to me by my doctor when I asked him about developing a regular meal routine. I have to have a regular routine that has little or no variance or I will not stick to anything. I am not grossly overweight and I exercise regularly, but I was all over the map on what I was eating. After reading this, it has helped me develop a meal routine that works for me. I don’t need to go to medical school and dive into the science behind a book. I also am not so gullible as to believe everything I read. I do not and will not follow the recommendations in a book to the letter because some doctor I’ve never met wants to make money selling books. With that being said, what’s the harm in educating yourself as much as possible to make the best decisions in your life? It seems to be a skill many people lack these days, and with the lines of cars at the fast food joints, every push for eating real food is a good push. If you’re struggling with health or weight issues, pick up and read all the information you can get your hands on(hell, do it while walking on a treadmill if you want to see even more results). Educate yourself, make a plan and routine that fits YOUR life, and stop worrying about what everyone else has to say on the subject. If it works for you, stick it out and commit to it. And stop bashing the critics who say get off the couch and move. While that may not be the best basis to criticize this book, it is an appropriate message to send to a LOT of people whether they want to hear it or not.

Interesting read
I purchased this book because an ER doctor suggested it. I wonder how true all of this really is. I guess I will try to eliminate the foods it says I should avoid and see if I truly see a difference.

Wherever you are at with your health this book gives such a new and interesting perspective. I’ve been following my blood type suggestions and have had so much more energy as of late. My blood type matches so much of my likes and dislikes that I never realized were related to my blood type. If you are looking for a new way of thinking I highly recommend!

This is a book each and everyone should get.The best thing is trying to get the organic products and depending on where one is you might not get all the products that you might want to. There are also products especially fruits you have loved, but you might have to avoid, that is hard, but I think it helps.Thank you for this book
