My husband forgot this step and we were confused with the results until I realized the mistake, and we were luckily still able to tilt it and get a result.We did my test first since I already knew my type, just in case we made a mistake, and it came out perfectly. I was able to do my own, but I did help my 9 year-old. I did the finger prick and I squeezed her finger for her while she collected the blood and mixed it into the circles. She did a great job and I think hers is a perfect age for something like this. We had no troubles with the lancets at all. Again, making sure your finger is warm (and choosing an area of a finger that is callous-free) is the real key to getting a large enough sample.
